UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1898.”
APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Dunedin.
PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned, the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Date and number of miner’s right: 29th October, 1901; No. 18420.
Address for service: Town Hall, Dunedin.
Dated at Dunedin, this 18th day of August, 1902.
SCHEDULE.
Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points: Commencing on the Taieri River at proposed dam-site at northernmost corner of Section 17, Block I., Dunedin and East Taieri District; thence in a southerly direction along eastern bank of Taieri River through Sections 17 and 1 of 18, Block I., Dunedin and East Taieri District; thence across public road, terminating at power-site, situated on Section 37 (Bush Reserve), Block I. aforesaid.
Length and intended course of race: 5,000 ft. along eastern bank from proposed dam-site to proposed power-station below rapids.
Points of intake: On eastern bank, about 30 ft. above weir-site.
Estimated time and cost of construction: One year; £15,000.
Mean depth and breadth: 7 ft. 3 in. by 7 ft. 3 in.
Number of heads to be diverted: 600.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Generating electricity for transmission of power and electric lighting.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Time and place appointed for the hearing of the application, and all objections thereto: Friday, 5th September, 1902, at 11 a.m., at Warden’s Court, at Dunedin.
Objections thereto must be filed in the Registrar’s Office and notified to applicant at least two days before the day so appointed.

In the matter of the Vincent Extended Gold-dredging Company (Limited), (in liquidation).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened, and held at Dunedin on Thursday, the 17th day of July, 1902, the following extraordinary general resolution was passed:—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily under ‘The Companies Act, 1882,’ and its amendments.”
And at the same meeting CHARLES STEPHEN REEVES, of Dunedin, Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

THE DUNSTAN PIONEER INVESTMENT GOLD-DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED), (IN LIQUIDATION).
NOTICE is hereby given that a General Meeting of shareholders in this company will be held at the Dunedin Stock Exchange, Colonial Bank Buildings, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Friday, the 17th day of October, 1902, at 4 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of receiving the Liquidator’s accounts showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted, and of passing a resolution as to the disposal of the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that a General Meeting of shareholders in this syndicate will be held at the Dunedin Stock Exchange, Colonial Bank Buildings, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 16th day of October, 1902, at 4 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of receiving the Liquidator’s accounts showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted, and of passing a resolution as to the disposal of the books, accounts, and documents of the syndicate and of the Liquidator thereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the Royal Maori Gold-dredging Company (Limited), held at the company’s registered office, 3, Bond Street, Dunedin, on Monday, the 11th August, 1902, the following resolution was passed, viz.:—
Resolution: “That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that Sidney Thorpe Mirams, of Dunedin, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”
