This district is bounded towards the north-west generally by the Lyttelton Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the north-western corner of Section No. 1410 of Block VII., Halswell Survey District, to the head of the bay in Port Lyttelton; thence towards the north by Lyttelton Harbour and the ocean; thence again towards the east and towards the south by the ocean to the mouth of the Rakaia River; thence towards the south-west by the left bank of the Rakaia River to a point in line with the south side of Rakaia and Irwell Road; thence again towards the north-west by a right line to the south side of the said road, and by that road to the Main Dunsandel Road; thence towards the east by the Main Dunsandel Road to Drain Road; thence towards the north by Drain Road easterly, crossing Killinchy, and passing Cooper’s and Webster’s Roads, and crossing Harman’s Road to the Southbridge Railway-line; thence again towards the north-west by the Southbridge Railway-line to its junction with the Little River Railway-line; thence towards the north-east by the Little River Railway-line to the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 10211 and 9449 of Block V., Halswell Survey District; thence again towards the north by the said road and the road forming part of the western boundary of Sections Nos. 4727 and 4754 to the Halswell River, thence by the said Halswell River to the road and Drain Reserve fronting Section No. 1429 of Block VI., Halswell Survey District, thence by the north side of the said road and Drain Reserve and by Sections Nos. 13589, 944, 857, 794, 13556, 19537, 18808, 34553, 2608, and 906, Halswell Survey District, to the Lyttelton Electoral District aforesaid at the north-western corner of Section No. 1410 aforesaid, the place of commencement: including Quail Island and Ripa Island.

COURTENAY.

This district is bounded towards the north generally by the Kaiapoi Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from a point on the right bank of the Waimakariri River in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 32083 of Block IV., Hawkins Survey District, to the Riccarton Electoral District, hereinbefore described, at Fleshborn Road: thence towards the east and towards the north-west generally by the Riccarton Electoral District to the City of Christchurch Electoral District, hereinbefore described, at Lincoln Road; thence by the said City of Christchurch Electoral District to Selwyn Street: thence towards the east by the Lyttelton Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the south-western corner of Section No. 28012 of Block VII., Halswell Survey District: thence towards the south by the Ellesmere Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the River Selwyn: thence towards the south-west by the River Selwyn to the Wakaepu branch thereof; thence by the said Wakaepu Branch to the road forming the north-western boundary of Section No. 24284 of Block IX., Hawkins Survey District: thence again towards the north-west by that road and its continuation in a north-easterly direction to the northernmost corner of Section No. 1524 of Block V., Hawkins Survey District; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of Section No. 14156 of Block II., Hawkins Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 14156 and by Sections Nos. 19530, 19529, 26161, 18640, and 18421, and by the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to the Waimakariri River: and thence towards the north-east by the Waimakariri River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 32083 of Block IV., Hawkins Survey District, at the boundary of the Kaiapoi Electoral District aforesaid, the place of commencement.

SELWYN.

This district is bounded towards the north-east generally by the Hurunui Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the saddle between the north branch of the Hurunui River and the Taramakau River to a point on the left bank of the Ashley River, near Trig. Station 16, Mairaki Survey District: thence towards the south-east generally by the Kaiapoi Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to a point on the right bank of the Waimakariri River in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 32083 of Block IV., Hawkins Survey District: thence again towards the south-east and again towards the north-east by the Courtenay Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the Southbridge Railway-line: thence again towards the south-east and again towards the north-east by the Ellesmere Electoral District,

hereinbefore described, to the ocean at the mouth of the Rakaia River: thence again towards the south-east by the ocean to a point in line with the north-eastern side of the road which forms the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 27247 (Chertsey Boundary Road): thence again towards the south-west by a right line to that road; thence by that road and its continuation northerly, passing the following sections—viz., Sections Nos. 27248 and 26910, Block I., South Rakaia Survey District, Section No. 26909, Block VIII., Rakaia Survey District, Sections Nos. 26495, 26494, 26635, 25840, and 25770, Block XII., Ashburton Survey District, Sections Nos. 25646, 26534, 24981, and Reserve No. 1771, Block VIII., Ashburton Survey District; thence by a line being the continuation of the north-eastern boundary-line of that reserve across the Railway Reserve to the Great South Road: thence again towards the south-east by that road to Section No. 27031, Block VI., Ashburton Survey District: thence again towards the south-west by the road which forms the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section and its continuation northerly to the road which forms the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 27392, Block II., Ashburton Survey District: thence towards the north-west by the north-west side of the last-mentioned road to the north-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 27392: thence again towards the south-west by that section and Sections Nos. 27969, 27970, 27985, 28020, 31252, 30505, 30504, Block I., Ashburton Survey District, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section: thence again towards the south-east by the road bounding Sections Nos. 30504, 31251, and 28769 of the said Block I. to Shepherd’s Bush Road; thence by Shepherd’s Bush Road to Winchmore Road: thence again towards the south-west by the said Winchmore Road to the northernmost corner of Section No. 34165, Block III., Westerfield Survey District: thence again towards the south-east by the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to the north branch of the Ashburton River: thence again towards the south-west by the north branch of the Ashburton River to Boundary Creek, and thence by Boundary Creek to the source of the said creek near Mount Taylor; thence by a right line to the said Mount Taylor; and thence by Runs Nos. 115 and 117 to the mouth of Lake Stream, in the Rakaia River; thence by that river to its source; and thence by a line due west to the Southern Alps at the Westland Electoral District, hereinbefore described: and thence again towards the north-west by the Westland Electoral District aforesaid to the Hurunui Saddle, the place of commencement.

ASHBURTON.

This district is bounded towards the north-east generally by the Selwyn Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the Southern Alps to the ocean at Chertsey Boundary Road; thence towards the south-east by the ocean to the mouth of the Rangitata River; thence towards the south-west by the Rangitata River to its confluence with Forest Creek; thence again towards the south-east by Forest Creek to Run No. 77; thence again towards the west generally by that run to the Thumbs, thence by the summit of the watershed over Alma Peak to the Southern Alps; and thence again towards the north-west by the Westland Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the Selwyn Electoral District aforesaid.

GERALDINE.

This district is bounded towards the north and north-east generally by the Ashburton Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the eastern boundary of Run No. 77, near Two-thumb Range, to the ocean at the mouth of the Rangitata River: thence towards the south-east by the ocean to the mouth of the Opihi River: thence towards the south by the right bank of the Opihi River to the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 21122, Block IV., Pareora Survey District: thence again towards the south-east generally by that section and Section No. 10454, Block IV., and Sections Nos. 12448, 16677, and 17800, Block VIII., Pareora Survey District, to the Albury Railway-line; thence by that railway-line to the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 15245, Block VIII., Pareora Survey District; thence by that road and its continuation, passing Sections Nos. 12242, 13744, 12875, 13516, 15830, 15877, 17304, and 19165, Block VIII., Pareora Survey District, to the road at the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 17311; thence by the road which forms the south-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections Nos. 15906, 20737, 33002, 15876, 18976, 19510, 19077, 19298, 20661, 21223, 17575, 15829, and 22135, all of Pareora Survey District, to the Cliffs Road; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 30253, Pareora Survey District; thence by the road at the south-eastern corner of the said Section No. 30253; thence by the said road and its continuation westerly to the road at the western boundary of Section No. 19891; thence by that road in a northerly direction, passing Sections
