This district is bounded towards the north-west and north generally by the Kaiapoi Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the southern boundary-line of Baile’s Island in the Waimakariri River at a point in line with the eastern side of Fleshborn Road, Block V., Christchurch Survey District, to the mouth of the Waimakariri River: thence towards the east by Pegasus Bay to a point in line with the northern side of the road which forms the north-eastern boundary of Reserve No. 2638, Christchurch Survey District: thence towards the south-west by a right line to the northern side of the said road, and thence by the said road and its continuation in a north-westerly direction, passing Sections Nos. 2340, 31684, 20428, and 20429, to the road forming the north-western boundary of Sections Nos. 20278 and 20279, Christchurch Survey District: thence again towards the north-west by the last-mentioned road to Purarekanui Creek: thence towards the south-east by the Purarekanui Creek to its confluence with the Styx River; thence by the Styx River to the south-western boundary-line of Rural Section No. 294 of Block VII., Christchurch Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 294 to Hawkins Road: thence towards the east by Hawkins Road to its junction with Hill’s Road: thence by Hill’s Road to its junction with Kelly’s Road: thence towards the south by Kelly’s Road to Shirley’s Road: thence towards the north-east by Shirley’s Road to the Borough of St. Albans: thence again towards the south-east and towards the north-east respectively by the Borough of St. Albans (as the said Borough of St. Albans is described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 102, 24th November, 1881) to the River Avon at the road forming the south-western boundary of original Rural Section No. 6, Christchurch Survey District: thence again towards the south-east by the River Avon to the western boundary-line of Hagley Park: thence again towards the east and towards the south by the western and southern boundary-lines of Hagley Park to the Lower Lincoln Road: thence again towards the south-east by the Lower Lincoln Road to Junction Road: thence towards the south-west by Junction Road to Middle Lincoln Road: thence again towards the south-east by Middle Lincoln Road to the road forming the north-western boundary of Rural Section No. 327, Block XIV., Christchurch Survey District; thence by that road, the road forming the northern and western boundaries of Rural Section No. 2176, and by the road forming the western boundary of Rural Section No. 550 to Halswell Junction Road: thence again towards the south-west by Halswell Junction Road to the Southbridge Railway-line: thence again towards the north-west by the Southbridge Railway-line to the Main South Road; thence by the Main South Road to Hornsby Junction Road, and thence by Hornsby Junction Road to and across the Dunedin-Christchurch Railway-line to Yaldhurst Road: thence again towards the south-west by Yaldhurst Road to Kaiapoi Junction Road: and thence again towards the north-west by Kaiapoi Junction Road to Coringa Road: thence again towards the south-west by Coringa Road to the road intersecting Section No. 6113 of Block V., Christchurch Survey District: thence again towards the north-west by the last-mentioned road and its continuation in a north-easterly direction through a reserve to Fleshborn Road; thence by Fleshborn Road and by the eastern side of Fleshborn Road produced to the right bank of the Waimakariri River at the Kaiapoi Electoral District, the place of commencement.

AVON.

This district is bounded towards the north-west and the north by the Riccarton Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the Borough of St. Albans to Pegasus Bay: thence towards the east by Pegasus Bay to the estuary of the Heathcote and the Avon Rivers: thence towards the south-west and towards the south-east by the said estuary to the south-western side of the Canal Reserve: thence again towards the south-west by the south-western side of the said Canal Reserve (being the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Woolston) to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Aldwin’s Road: thence again towards the south-east by a right line to the south-eastern side of Aldwin’s Road, and by the south-eastern side of that road and its production to the southern side of Ferry Road: thence again towards the south-west by the southern side of Ferry Road to Ensor’s Road: thence again towards the south-east by the eastern side of Ensor’s Road to the reserve for the Christchurch-Lyttelton Railway: thence again towards the south-west by that reserve to Wilson’s Road on the Sydenham Borough boundary: thence again towards the north-west by Wilson’s Road to Ferry Road: thence again towards the south-west by Ferry Road to the East Town Belt of the City of Christchurch: thence again towards the west by the said East Town Belt to the River Avon; thence by the production of the eastern side of the East Town Belt across the River Avon to the left bank of that river: thence again towards the north and north-west by the left bank of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of a subdivision of Section No. 197, Block XI., Christchurch Survey District, containing 3 acres and 35 perches: thence towards the south by a right line to the said southern boundary-line; thence by that boundary-line to the road which forms the north-western boundary of a subdivision of the said Section No. 197, containing 5 acres 2 roods; thence by that road to a road intersecting the said Section No. 197, and by the last-mentioned road to the North Avon Road; thence by that road to Hill’s Road: and thence towards the west by the said Hill’s Road to Shirley’s Road, and by Shirley’s Road to the Riccarton Electoral District aforesaid, the place of commencement.

CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.

This district is bounded towards the east generally by the Avon Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the junction of Shirley’s Road with Hill’s Road at the Borough of St. Albans to where Wilson’s Road is crossed by the Christchurch-Lyttelton Railway; thence towards the south-east by the said Wilson’s Road to the road running along the Heathcote River, and known as Heathcote Terrace, thence by the said Heathcote Terrace to Tennyson Street; thence towards the south by the said Tennyson Street to Colombo Road; thence towards the west by the said Colombo Road to Strickland Street; thence towards the south-west by the said Strickland Street and its north-eastern side produced across Jackson’s Creek, a branch of the River Heathcote; thence again towards the south by the said Jackson’s Creek to Douglas Jerrold Street, and by the last-mentioned street to the Lower Lincoln Road at the boundary of the Riccarton Electoral District, hereinbefore described; thence towards the west and north generally by the Riccarton Electoral District aforesaid to the junction of Shirley’s Road with Hill’s Road, the place of commencement.

LYTTELTON.

This district is bounded towards the north-east and north generally by the City of Christchurch Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from Selwyn Street, to where Wilson’s Road is crossed by the Christchurch-Lyttelton Railway: thence towards the north-west and the north-east generally by the Avon Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the estuary of the Heathcote and Avon Rivers; thence by the said estuary and by Pegasus Bay to Godley Head: thence towards the south and east by Lyttelton Harbour to the head of the bay at the bridge near the mouth of Te Rapu Stream; thence by a line to the nearest point of the road which forms the eastern boundary of Section No. 25401 of Block VII., Halswell Survey District; thence by that road and its continuation towards Gebbie’s Pass, passing Sections Nos. 344, 481, 75, 13920, 34609, and 35602, to Section No. 21471 of Block XI., Halswell Survey District: thence again towards the south by the said Section No. 21471 and Section No. 6076 to the road which forms part of the southern boundary of Section No. 35602 of the said Block XI.; thence by the south side of that road and its continuation westerly, passing Sections Nos. 6260, 4190, and 1383, to the western boundary-line of Section No. 1194; thence by that section and Section No. 4621 of the said Block XI. to Section No. 1390: thence towards the west generally by the said Section No. 1390, and Sections Nos. 1196, 14334, 33951, 1182, 1060, 906, 34555, 13609, 34551, 18809, 1443, 35510, 1403, 33748, and 565 of Block VII., Halswell Survey District, and by Sections Nos. 485, 33742, 521, 520, 491, 338, and 493, all of Block III., Halswell Survey District, to the road intersecting the last-mentioned section; thence by that road and its continuation northerly, intersecting the said Section No. 493 and Section No. 10210, and passing along the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 2231, 31363, 31362, 2063, and 1325 to the Hoon Hay Road; thence by the Hoon Hay Road to the plantation and road reserve separating Sections Nos. 382 and 383 of Block XV., Christchurch Survey District; thence
