Notice of Intention to take Land for a Hospital-site in the
Parish of Titirangi, Waitemata Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1894," to take
land for a certain public work, to wit, the purposes of a
hospital site, and works in connection therewith, and for
the purposes of such public work the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is
further given that the plan of the said land so required to
be taken is deposited in the Road Board Office of the Point
Chevalier Road District, County of Eden, Auckland. and is
there open for inspection. And notice is hereby given that
all persons affected by the taking of the said land shall, if
they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of
such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Temuka Borough Council.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Temuka, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901."

TEMUKA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901."

Temuka, 15th July, 1902.

Sir,—In pursuance of the provisions of "The Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1901,' I have the honour to give you notice that
at a poll of the electors (other than those enrolled upon a
residential qualification) of the Borough of Temuka, held in
the said borough on the 8th day of July, 1902, upon the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Temuka set out below,
the votes recorded were,—

For the said proposal, 75; against the said proposal, 42;
informal, 4: majority in favour of the proposal, 33.

I therefore hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.
The said proposal was as follows :—

Borough of Temuka.—Proposal to raise a Special Loan.

In the matter of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900"; and in the matter of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901."

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the abovementioned Acts, that the Council of the Borough of Temuka proposes,—1. To construct and build ironbark girder and deck bridges of 20 ft. span, carried on concrete abutments, and wings, over the Taumatakahu Creek at Wilkin Street and at Maude Street. 2. For such purpose to raise from the Government of New Zealand or elsewhere a loan of £700, the interest thereon for the first year, and the preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the proposed scheme, and the cost of raising such loan, to be paid out of the loan. 3. To pledge, as security for the repayment of such loan and the interest thereon, an annually recurring special rate of ½d. in the pound sterling, levied on the annual rateable value of all properties in the Borough of Temuka, for a period not exceeding twenty-six years from the date of raising such loan. 4. To set apart or pay annually the sum of £31 10s. as interest and sinking fund or payment in reduction of the proposed loan.

THE following special order, made by the Masterton County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901."

MASTERON COUNTY.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum, and other charges, on a loan of £200 (being 10 per cent. on an original loan of £2,000), authorised to be raised by the Masterton County Council, under the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," for the construction of head-works and water-races in the Upper Plain Water-supply District, the said Masterton County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Upper Plain Water-supply District, comprising Sections 126, 127, Block III.; Sections 32, 130, 99, 100, 54, 53, 52, Subdivisions 3A, 3B, 3C, 20, and 18 of the Akura Block ; Allotments 83 to 231 of Sections 50 and 51, Allotment 8 of Section 51, Allotments 2 to 8 of Section 50, Allotments E and F of Sections 50 and 51, Allotments a, b, c, and d of Section 51, Sections 42 to 47, 88 to 97, 103, 124, all those portions of Sections 123, 125, 122, 121, 109, 108, 106, 107 lying to the east side of the Upper Manaia Road, Sections 62 to 71, all in Block IV., Tiffen Survey District : and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Passed at a special meeting of the said Council, this 10th day of April, 1902; confirmed this 12th day of June, 1902.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Masterton was affixed hereto in the presence of—
