hereto enabling, and in terms of notice in writing duly received by me from the Chairman of the Conference of Delegates of all the local authorities comprised in the district constituted for the purposes of that Act by the Boroughs of the City of Auckland, Parnell, Newmarket, and Grey Lynn (being all the boroughs or town districts any part of any one of which is situate within a mile of any part of another), I, Richard John Seddon, Minister of Labour, hereby appoint Wednesday to be the day on which all shops in the said district shall be closed as provided by that Act.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by “The Shops and Shop-assistants Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities me hereto enabling, and in terms of notice in writing duly received by me from the Chairman of the Conference of Delegates of all the local authorities comprised in the district constituted for the purposes of that Act by the Boroughs of the City of Dunedin, St. Kilda, South Dunedin, Caversham, Mornington, Roslyn, Maori Hill, North-east Valley, West Harbour, and Port Chalmers (being all the boroughs or town districts any part of any one of which is situate within a mile of any part of another), I, Richard John Seddon, Minister of Labour, hereby appoint Wednesday to be the day on which all shops in the said district shall be closed as provided by that Act.

CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
Mimi-Mokau Road Loan.
Result of poll taken on the 15th January, 1902, upon the proposal to borrow £1,500, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to metal portions of the Mimi-Mokau Road from the Main North Road northwards, and a portion of the Uruti Road, a distance of about three miles:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 57; number of votes exercisable, 79: Number of votes recorded in favour of proposal, 35; number of votes recorded against the proposal, nil; number of ratepayers who did not vote, 32; number of votes not recorded, 44.
I therefore declare the above proposal to be carried.

WAIMATE ROAD BOARD.
Special Order re 10 per Cent. Additional Loan to the Glenn Road £1,200 Loan.
THAT, to secure repayment of a loan of £120 (together with interest thereon as set forth in subsection (3) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899”—i.e., at the rate of £3½ per centum per annum), being an additional advance of 10 per cent. on the Glenn Road loan of £1,200, raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and amendments thereof, for the purpose of forming and metalling the unmetalled portions of Glenn Road, southern subdivision, from the southern boundary of Section No. 5, Block II., Waimate Survey District, to a point 40 chains south of the block-line dividing the Kaupokonui and Waimate Survey Districts, a special annual-recurring rate of ½d. in the pound be made and levied for a period of forty-one years over the Glenn Road Special Rating Area, comprising the following sections—34 to 39 (all inclusive), and the northern portion of Sections 40 (200 acres), all in Block II., Waimate Survey District; such rate to be payable, if required, in one instalment on the 1st day of January in each year of the aforesaid period.
I certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Wirokino Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT this Board now make a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable value of the following properties—viz., part 3D No. 2 (being that part which lies to the east of Gladstone Road and a part lying to the west, making a total area of 200 acres); part 3E No. 2 (being that part which lies north-east and a part lying to west and south of Gladstone Road, making a total area of 200 acres); 3E Nos. 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 3F; 3E No. 4; 3E Nos. 5, 5A, 5B; 3D Nos. 3A, 3B, 3C; 3D No. 5; 3C No. 3; 3C No. 4; Subdivisions Nos. 4, 7, 8, Horowhenua Block; Sections 5 and 9, Block III., Waiopehu Survey District, all inclusive, and the above-mentioned sections constituting the Gladstone Special Rating District—to provide for interest and other annual charges on a loan of £250 to be raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of metalling Gladstone Road, such rate to be an annual-recurring rate for forty-one years, to become due and payable in one instalment on the 1st day in June in each and every succeeding year.
I hereby certify that the foregoing special order by the Wirokino Road Board was duly adopted at an ordinary meeting held on the 16th day of November, 1901, confirmed at a special meeting on the 21st day of December, 1901, and was made in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THAT, to secure the repayment of a loan of £2,000, raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its Amendments Act, 1899, such loan being for a period of twenty-six years, with interest at the rate of 4½ per cent. per annum, for the purpose of forming and metalling the Tariki Road from end of present metal eastwards, and the Ratapiko Road to the Mana Road, a special rate of 1½d. in the pound be made and levied over the following lands, which are hereby constituted the Tariki and Ratapiko Special Rating District: Sections 12, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 30, 31 (in two subdivisions), 32, 29, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 60, 62, Block VI., Huiroa Survey District; Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 19, 20, Block VII., Huiroa Survey District. Such rate to be an annual-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable in one instalment on the 1st day of January in each year.
All expenses in connection with raising the loan to be charged to the loan.
