In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act,
1900.”
I, Archibald Alexander MacGibbon, Mayor of the Borough
of Gore, do hereby solemnly and sincerely declare,—
- That I am Mayor of the Borough of Gore.
- That on the 28th day of February, 1902, a meeting of
the electors of the Borough of Gore was held to consider
the following proposals: that is to say, that the Gore
Borough Council be authorised to raise a special loan for
the following undertakings—that is to say, footpaths, £750;
drainage, £4,300: total, £5,050—and that the said loans
be secured by the issue of debentures of £100 sterling or
part of £100 sterling each, bearing interest at the rate of
£4 10s. per centum per annum, and sinking fund of £1 per
centum per annum, payable half-yearly, and repayable as
to principal twenty-five years after the issue thereof, upon
special rate on the annual value of rateable property in the
North and South Wards of the Borough of Gore. - That on the 14th day of March, 1902, a poll of the
electors of the North and South Wards of the Borough of
Gore was taken on the proposals mentioned in paragraph 2
hereof. - That on the taking of the said poll all the said pro-
posals were carried. - That all proceedings required by law to be taken in or
towards obtaining the sanction of the electors to the pro-
posal have been duly taken, and that the resolutions in
favour of the said proposals have been duly carried.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously be-
lieving the same to be true, and under and by virtue of the
provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New
Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Borough of Palmerston North, is published in accord-
ance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1900.”

I, William Thomas Wood, Mayor of the Borough of Pal-
merston North, in the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
pursuant to “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” give
you notice that, on the 25th day of March, 1902, a poll of
burgesses of the said Borough of Palmerston North was
taken, under provisions of the said Act, and also under the
provisions of “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,”
on a proposal of the Council of the said borough to borrow
a sum of £6,000 by way of special loan for the purpose of
erecting a public building under provisions of the said Acts,
a copy of which proposal is next hereinafter set out.

Borough of Palmerston North.—Loan for Public Building.
The Palmerston North Borough Council propose to raise
a loan for the erection of a building to be used for public
functions as well as for recreation purposes, and it is pro-
posed to pay the first year’s interest and cost of raising loan
out of the principal. The sum proposed to be borrowed for
such purpose is £6,000; and it is proposed to pledge as
security for such loan a special rate of ½d. in the pound on
the unimproved value of the whole rateable property within
the borough, and to create a sinking fund of 1 per cent. per
annum as a provision for the repayment of the said loan.

recorded upon the taking of the said poll for and against the
said proposal was as follows: Number of votes for the pro-
posal, 316; number of votes against the proposal, 212.
Declaration.
In the matter of a loan of £6,000 for erection of a public
building, and a proposal of the Palmerston North Borough
Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for such purpose
under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.”
I, William Thomas Wood, of Palmerston North, in the
Provincial District of Wellington, in the Colony of New
Zealand, Mayor of the Borough of Palmerston North, do
solemnly and sincerely declare as follows:—
- That all proceedings as required by the abovenamed
Act to be taken towards obtaining the sanction of the
burgesses of the said Borough of Palmerston North to a
proposal of the said Council of the said borough to raise the
sum of £6,000 by way of special loan under the provisions of
the said Act have been duly taken. - That upon a poll of the said burgesses, taken on the
said proposal on the 25th day of March, 1902, the said pro-
posal was duly carried within the meaning of the above-
named Act.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously be-
lieving the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions
of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled
“The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”
