Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that
the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twelfth
day of March, one thousand nine hundred and two; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the
option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity,
or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on
lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under
and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Section 2 contains about 6 acres kahikatea bush, balance chiefly fern swamp with a few acres of undulating fern
country; soil fair. Section 3 contains about 35 acres kahikatea bush, balance swamp, with some undulating fern country.
Section 4, open fern and tea-tree land, with a few acres firm swamp; balance undulating land. These sections are from
one mile to one mile and a half by road from Otorohanga Railway-station.

puriri, rimu, and kahikatea. Section 4, between 30 and 40 acres open agricultural land on banks of Awaroa River.
Section 5 contains from 20 to 30 acres open agricultural fern land; access to this section by Awaroa River, a branch of
the Whangape Harbour, about eight miles. These lands are situated from seven to eight miles from Takahue Post-office
and from four to five miles from Herekino Post-office.
