Land temporarily reserved in the Land District of Canterbury.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land District of Canterbury described in the Schedule hereunder written, for river-conservation purposes.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury, containing 6,900 acres, more or less, being Reserve 3542, situated in Blocks IV., VI., VII., and VIII., Rolleston, and I., II., III., V., and VI., Christchurch, Survey Districts, being that portion of the Waimakariri River bed extending in a southerly and westerly direction from White’s Bridge, being bounded by the freehold lands and the road reserved along the said river to a line in continuation of the line of embankment north-easterly from the northern boundary of Reserve 947, and about 49 chains to the east of Thompson’s Road; thence north-easterly along the said line about 50 chains to a point in the centre of the said river; thence easterly and northerly along the main channel of the same to White’s Bridge; thence easterly by the said bridge to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch: save and except thereout all freehold lands and Pastoral Run N 96, included within the above-described boundaries, for which allowance has been made in the area.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and one.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Land District of Southland enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule, and opposite the descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.
