BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Auckland Land District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, being Section No. 26 of the Parish of Katikati, containing by admeasurement 105 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by a road, 100 links wide, running along the shore of the Bay of Plenty; towards the south-east by a road, 100 links wide, running along the shore of Katikati Harbour; towards the north by Section No. 25 of the Parish of Katikati, 2345 links; towards the south-west by said Section No. 25 and Section No. 24 of the same parish, 8883 links; and towards the north-west by a public road, 284 and 920 links, to the point of commencement.
Also, all that area in the Auckland Land District, being Section No. 25 of the Parish of Katikati, containing by admeasurement 80 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 26 of the Parish of Katikati, 1886 links; towards the south-east by said section, 2345 links, and by a public road, 64, 272, 240, 290, 370, 306, 476, 455, and 176 links; towards the west by a public road, 194, 289, 217, 219, 271, 258, 631, 304, 344, 199, 255, and 378 links; and towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 1 and 24 of the Parish of Katikati, 3600 links, to the point of commencement.

Appointing Day for closing under “The Shops and Shop-assistants Act, 1894.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of February, 1902.

WHEREAS the local authority of the Borough of Devonport, being duly authorised by “The Shops and Shop-assistants Act, 1894,” to appoint by special resolution, in the month of January, one thousand nine hundred and two, the day on which shops in the said borough are to be closed in accordance with the said Act, has failed so to appoint a day:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section ten of the said Act, do hereby appoint Wednesday to be the day on which shops shall be closed in the said borough in accordance with the said Act.

Declaring a Deviation of the Garfield Road, in Block II., Longwood Survey District, to be a County Road.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by section one hundred and two of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the deviation of the Garfield Road, where the same is crossed by the Orepuki-Waiau Railway, as described in the Schedule hereto, shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land in Block II., Longwood Survey District, County of Wallace, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 25½ perches, being portion of an area of Crown land 2 acres 3 roods 2 perches in extent, referred to in a Proclamation taking land for railway purposes dated the 29th day of November, 1900, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 102, of the 13th day of December in the same year: as the abovementioned area of 2 roods 25½ perches is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 19254, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured sepia.

Amended Regulation under “The Lands Improvement and Native Lands Acquisition Act, 1894.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of February, 1902.

THE HONOURABLE J. CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twenty-fifth section of “The Lands Improvement and Native Lands Acquisition Act, 1894,” it is enacted that the Governor in Council may make regulations for carrying out the purposes of the said Act:
And whereas by an Order in Council dated the eleventh day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, certain regulations were made by the Governor under the above-in-part-recited Act, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 91, of the thirteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four:
And whereas clause sixteen of the said regulations was revoked, and a new clause made in lieu thereof, by an Order in Council dated the sixteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 71, of the seventeenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six:
And whereas it has been found desirable to further amend clause sixteen of the said regulations:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council of the sixteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and make the following regulation, which shall take the place of clause sixteen in the said regulations made on the eleventh day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.
REGULATION.
Where the member is a married man an advance of £30, and where the member is a single man an advance of £10, may, on the recommendation of the Commissioner, be made towards the cost of erecting a dwellinghouse on a section, fencing, and making a garden, such advance not to exceed three-fourths of the value of the proposed building, fencing, and garden, and to bear interest at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum. Such amounts may be afterwards deducted from the earnings of the member in such proportions, or added to the capital value, as the Commissioner may in each instance determine; but the buildings will remain the property of the Crown until wholly paid for, and if not
