Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds.—Notice No. 687.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the undermentioned local governing bodies have, by special order, declared the plants enumerated opposite the name of each to be noxious weeds within the meaning of “The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900,” in the district under the jurisdiction of each respectively :—

Notice to Mariners No. 11 of 1902.

THE following Notices to Mariners, received from the Marine Board, Hobart, Tasmania; the Collector of Customs, Suva, Fiji; and the Harbour Department, Hongkong, are published for general information.

PIERS AND WHARVES, HOBART.
Notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Marine Board of Hobart held on the 24th instant it was decided,—
(1.) That the large pier now being built at Hobart be named Alexandra Pier.
(2.) That the New Wharf be renamed Prince’s Wharf.
(3.) That Zeelan Wharf be renamed Hunter Street Wharf.
(4.) That the small pier between Hunter Street Wharf and the Victoria Dock entrance be named Kangaroo Pier.
Also, that the lights at the end of Alexandra Pier be three green, arranged triangularly; and the two red lights at the Victoria Dock entrance be replaced by two bright white lights: the approximate date for the exhibition of the above lights being 1st March next.

LIGHTHOUSE ON CAPE WASHINGTON, KADAVU.
Preliminary Notice.
A LIGHTHOUSE is about to be erected at Cape Washington, the most westerly point of the Island of Kadavu.
The height of the building, when complete, will be about 180 ft. above high-water level.
The light will be a fourth-order white dioptric fixed light, visible round an arc of the horizon of 190° to the westward.
It is expected that the light will be exhibited on 1st March, 1902.
Due notice will be given before the light is installed.

LIGHTHOUSE ON KORO.
Preliminary Notice.
A LIGHTHOUSE is about to be erected at Vunaku, the most easterly point of the Island of Koro.
The height of the building, when complete, will be about 180 ft. above high-water level.
The light will be a fourth-order red dioptric fixed light, visible round an arc of the horizon of 180° to the eastward.
It is expected that the light will be exhibited on 1st March, 1902.
Due notice will be given before the light is installed.

WAILAGILALA LIGHT.
Notice is hereby given that during the first week of April, 1902, the present catoptric light at Wailagilala will be replaced by a fourth-order white dioptric fixed light, which will be visible round an arc of the horizon of 216°—namely, from N. 64° E. round by N. and W. to S. 42° W., mag.

HONGKONG.
On 1st January, 1902, two new harbour-lights will be exhibited as follows:—
On the 1½-fathom rock just inside Lyemun Pass, a red globular lantern, displayed on a concrete pillar with staff and globe, visible all round for a distance of about one mile.
On the shore, on eastern side of Lyemun Pass, close to joss-house to northward of Lyemun Point, a red globular lantern, displayed from an iron gibbet on rock close down to beach, visible all round for a distance of about one mile.
