SANSO N DISTRICT.

All that area in the Land District of Wellington bounded towards the north-west by the Rangitikei River: towards the north-east by the block known as the Manchester Block, from the Rangitikei River to the road forming the north-western boundary of Section No. 118, Block IX., Oroua Survey District; thence by that road and the road forming the northern and western boundaries of Section No. 116 to Lee’s (Road) Line; thence by the said Lee’s (Road) Line to the western boundary-line of Native Reserve No. 149 (Kawakawa); and thence by that reserve to the Oroua River: thence towards the south-east generally by that river to a point in line with the southern side of the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 304, Block IV., Te Kawau Survey District: thence towards the south by a right line to the southern side of that road; thence by the southern side of the said road and its continuation to the Foxton-Sandon Road; thence again towards the east by the said Foxton-Sandon Road to the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 82, Block VI., Te Kawau Survey District: thence again towards the south by that road and its continuation in a westerly direction to the easternmost corner of Section No. 125, Block V., Te Kawau Survey District; and thence by that section to the Rangitikei River aforesaid.

FOXTON DISTRICT.

All that area in the Land District of Wellington bounded towards the north generally by the Rangitikei River from the sea to Section No. 63, Block II., Te Kawau Survey District: thence towards the north-east by that section and the north side of the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 64 and 65, Block II., and Sections Nos. 66, 67, 68, and 73, Block VI., Te Kawau Survey District, to the Foxton-Sandon Road; thence across that road, and towards the east by the eastern side of the said Foxton-Sandon Road to the southern boundary-line of Section No. 313, Block X., Te Kawau Survey District: thence again towards the north generally by Sections Nos. 313 and 314, Block X., to the road forming the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence across that road and by Sections Nos. 317 and 318, Block XI., Te Kawau Survey District, and by subdivision No. 116 of Section No. 384 to its south-eastern corner; thence by the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Subdivisions Nos. 117, 82, and 83 of the said Section No. 384 to the westernmost corner of Subdivision No. 86; thence by the north-western boundary-line of the said Subdivision No. 86 to the Main Drain Road; thence by that road to the north-western corner of Subdivision No. 70 of Section No. 384 aforesaid; and thence by the northern boundary-line of the said Subdivision No. 70 to the Oroua River: thence again towards the east generally by the said Oroua River to its confluence with the Manawatu River: thence towards the south-east and south generally by the said Manawatu River to the sea: and thence towards the west generally by the sea to the place of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the tenth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Feilding, Ashhurst, and Palmerston North Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into three marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows:—

FEILDING DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north-east generally by the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 284, 285, 286, 287, and 288, Block XIV., Ongo Survey District, of Sections Nos. 289, 290, 291, 292, 293, 294, 295, 296, 297, 298, 299, and 300, Block XV., of Sections Nos. 188 and 189, Block XVI., of Sections Nos. 190 and 266, Block XIII., Apiti Survey District, of Sections Nos. 265 and 264, Block I., Pohangina Survey District, to the Oroua River; thence by the Oroua River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 2 and 3, Block II., Pohangina Survey District; thence by a line across that river, and by the north-eastern boundary-lines of the said Sections Nos. 2 and 3, to the Main Ridge Road: thence towards the south-east generally by the eastern side of the Main Ridge Road and by the eastern side of the Valley Road to the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 47, Block XVI., Oroua Survey District; thence by the eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 47 and 46 to Spur Road; thence by the said Spur Road and Penelope Road to the Ashhurst-Feilding Road; thence by the said Ashhurst-Feilding Road to the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 22, Block III., Kairanga Survey District; thence by the north-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 22 and 29, and by the Nannestad Road, to the railway-line; thence by a line across the railway-line, and by Newbury Road-line, to Cleverly Road-line: thence towards the south generally by the said Cleverly Road-line to the Taonui Stream; thence by the said Taonui Stream to the south-western boundary-line of Subdivision No. 8 of the Taonui-Ahuaturanga Block; thence by that boundary-line to Section No. 44, Block II., Kairanga Survey District (Te Matua Settlement); thence by Sections Nos. 44 and 43, Block II. aforesaid, to Kai-iwi Road; thence by the said Kai-iwi Road to the Oroua River; thence by a line across that river and by its right bank to the southern boundary-line of Native Reserve No. 149 (Kawakawa); thence by the southern and western boundary-lines of that reserve to Lees Road-line; thence by the said Lees Road-line, the road forming the western and northern boundaries of Section No. 116, Block IX., Oroua Survey District, and the road forming the north-western boundary of Section No. 118; thence by the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 50, 51, 52, 53, and 79, Block IX. aforesaid, and the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 79A, to a point in line with the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 77, Block V., Oroua Survey District; thence across that road and by Sections Nos. 77 and 68A, Oroua Survey District, to Junction Road; thence by the said Junction Road; thence by a line across that road, and by Sections Nos. 62 and 63, Block VI., to a road-line bounding the last-named section, by that road, and by the road bounding Section No. 53, across that road, and by the north-western boundary-line of Sections Nos. 87, 88, and 89, Block VII., and by the north-eastern boundary-line of the Manchester Block, to the westernmost corner of Section No. 284, first mentioned.

ASHHURST DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north-west generally by the Nannestad Road from the railway-line to the westernmost corner of Section No. 29, Block III., Kairanga Survey District; thence by the north-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 29 and 22 to the Ashhurst-Feilding Road; thence by the said Ashhurst-Feilding Road, by Penelope Road and Spur Road, to the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 46, Block XVI., Oroua Survey District; thence by Sections Nos. 46 and 47 to Valley Road; thence by the said Valley Road, the Main Ridge Road, and the summit of the watershed between the Oroua River and Pohangina River to a point due west of the south-east corner of Section No. 10, Block XII., Apiti Survey District; thence by Sections Nos. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 3 of the said Block XII., by Sections Nos. 1, 4, 9, and 10 of Block VIII. of the said Apiti Survey District, to the Oroua River; thence by a line across the said Oroua River, and by the right bank of that river, to its source: towards the north-east by a line due east to the summit of the Ruahine Range: towards the south-east generally by the summit of that range and the leading spur to the Manawatu River; thence by a line across the Manawatu River to its left bank: thence towards the south generally by the left bank of the Manawatu River to the Woodville-Palmerston Road; thence by that road to the road bounding Sections Nos. 454, 453, 452, 451, 450, and 449, Block VIII., Kairanga Survey District; thence by the latter road and the road bounding Sections Nos. 20, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, and 30 (Scandinavian Settlement), by the road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 56, Block VII., and by the railway-line, to Nannestad Road aforesaid.
