A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Mangaweka, Rongotea, Sanson, and Foxton Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into five marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—
MANGAWEKA DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the north generally by the Mataroa Road from the watershed between the Turakina and Hautapu Rivers to the watershed near Egmont Peak; thence by the watershed to Mount Baker; thence by a right line running due east to the Hautapu River; thence by the said Hautapu River to the southern boundary-line of the Ohinewairua Survey District; thence by that southern boundary-line to the Moawhango River; thence by the said Moawhango River to its confluence with the Rangitikei River; thence by the said Rangitikei River to its confluence with the Mangatoi Stream; thence by a right line to Aorangi Mountain; and thence by a right line running in the direction of the confluence of the Makarora River with the north branch of the Waipawa River to the summit of the Ruahine Range: thence towards the east by the summit of the Ruahine Range to the northern watershed of the Kawhatau River: thence towards the south generally by the northern watershed of the Kawhatau River to a point due north of the easternmost corner of Otamakapua No. 2B Native Reserve; thence by a right line to that corner; thence by the eastern boundary of the said reserve, by the east side of the Auputa Road, the south side of Lagoon Road, by Section No. 15, Block XVI., Hautapu Survey District, by the south bank of the Mangawharariki River, by the southern boundary of Section No. 40, Block XV., Hautapu Survey District, by the western side of the Mangawharariki Road, by the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 39B, said Block XV., and by the eastern side of Cross Road, to Section No. 2; thence by Sections Nos. 2, 1, and 71, Block XV., and Sections Nos. 73, 75, 77, 4, and 3, Block XIV., Hautapu Survey District, to the Rangitikei River; thence by that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary-line of the Powhakarua Block; thence by a line to and by that boundary-line, the south-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 6, 1, and 11, Block IX., Hautapu Survey District, and the south-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 30 and 27, Block VIII., Tiriraukawa Survey District, to the western corner of the last-mentioned section: and thence towards the west generally by the north-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 27 and 25, said Block VIII., to the road forming the southern boundary of Section No. 24; thence by that road to the watershed between the Rangitikei and Turakina Rivers; thence by that watershed and the watershed between the Hautapu and Turakina Rivers to the Mataroa Road, the place of commencement.
TAIHAPE DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the north-east generally by the western watershed of the Moawhango River from near the source of the Waitangi Stream to Auahitotara Mountain; thence by a right line running due east to the Moawhango River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Aorangi Stream; thence by the leading spur to the watershed between the Moawhango and Rangitikei Rivers; thence by that watershed to the source of the Mangatoi Stream; thence by the Mangatoi Stream to its confluence with the Rangitikei River: thence towards the south-east generally by the said Rangitikei River to its confluence with the Moawhango River, near Totara Flat; thence by the said Moawhango River to the southern boundary-line of the Ohinewairua Survey District; thence by that southern boundary-line to the Hautapu River; thence by the said Hautapu River to a point due east of Mount Baker; thence by a right line to Mount Baker; thence by the watershed to the Mataroa Road near Egmont Peak; thence by the said Mataroa Road to the watershed between the Hautapu and Turakina Rivers: thence towards the west generally by that watershed to Tuhirangi Mountain; thence by a right line to Trig. Station I, Karioi Survey District; and thence by the north-western watershed of the Waitangi Stream to the western watershed of the Moawhango River, the place of commencement.
RONGOTEA DISTRICT.
All that area in the Land District of Wellington bounded towards the north generally by the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 14, 231, 232, 233, 239, and 250, Block III., Te Kawau Survey District, and the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 252, 258, 259, 260, 296, 295, 292, and 304, Block IV., and the southern side of that road produced to the Oroua River: thence towards the east generally by the said Oroua River to the northern boundary-line of Subdivision No. 70 of Section No. 384, Te Kawau Survey District: thence towards the south generally by the said Subdivision No. 70 to the Main Drain Road; thence by that road to the northernmost corner of Subdivision No. 86 of the said Section No. 384; thence by the said Subdivision No. 86 and the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Subdivisions Nos. 83, 82, and 117, to the south-eastern corner of Subdivision No. 116 of Section No. 384 aforesaid; thence by the southern boundary-line of the said Subdivision No. 116 and the southern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 318 and 317, Block XI., Te Kawau Survey District, to the road forming the western boundary of
