A PROCLAMATION.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter
John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, with the consent of the lessee of the land
hereinafter mentioned, and with the consent of the Pahiatua County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as taken for a road the land in the Makuri Survey District hereinafter described, that is to say,—

Approximate Area of Land taken. Being Part of Section Situated in Block Situated in Survey District of Shown on Plan marked Coloured On Plan
A. R. P. 0 0 13 V.H.S.S. 197 XIV. Makuri R.4297 Red.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above noted, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Waimate Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

W HEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under “The Public Works
Act, 1894,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
for the purposes of gravel-pits :

And whereas the Waimate County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration required by the said Act :

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of gravel-pits.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing 1 acre 2 roods, more or less, commencing at a point 1229 links distant from the south-east corner of Rural Section 29412 on a north-west bearing of 273° 4′; and bounded thence by a line on a north-east bearing of 3° 4′ a distance of 500 links; thence on a north-west bearing of 273° 4′ a distance of 300 links; thence on a south-west bearing of 183° 4′ a distance of 500 links to Government Road; thence along such road on a south-east bearing of 93° 4′ a distance of 300 links back to the starting-point: as the same is delineated on plan marked R. 4306, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Also, all that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing 1 acre 2 roods, more or less, commencing at the north-east corner of Lot 3 on plan deposited as No. 1356 in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch, and bounded by a line running thence on a north-west bearing of 288° 4′ a distance of 500 links along the northern boundary of said Lot 3; thence on a south-west bearing of 198° 4′ a distance of 300 links; thence on a south-east bearing of 108° 4′ a distance of 500 links to Government Road; thence on a north-east bearing of 18° 4′
a distance of 300 links along such road, and back to the starting-point: as the same is delineated on the plan marked R. 4306A, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

the Purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

W HEREAS it has been found desirable for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Waitaki-Bluff
Railway to take further land in the Borough of Invercargill, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

THE parcels of land mentioned hereunder :—
