Act to set apart any specified area of Crown lands within a kauri-gum district to be kauri-gum reserves under the said Act: And whereas it is expedient to create and set apart the kauri-gum reserves hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby set apart the several areas of Crown lands respectively described in the Schedule hereto as kauri-gum reserves, with the names respectively set over the description of such reserves in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
AWITU NO. 1 KAURI-GUM RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, being the north-western portion of Section No. 99 and the north-eastern portion of Section No. 33, both of the Parish of Awitu, containing by admeasurement 153 acres 1 rood 24 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern portion of Section No. 99 of the Parish of Awitu; towards the south-east by the south-western portion of Section No. 99 aforesaid, and the south-eastern portion of Section No. 33 of the same parish; towards the south-west by the south-western portion of Section No. 33 aforesaid; and towards the north-west by a public road to the point of commencement.
AWITU NO. 2 KAURI-GUM RESERVE.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, being the south-western portion of Section No. 62 of the Parish of Awitu, containing by admeasurement 80 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the middle portion of Section No. 62 of the Parish of Awitu; towards the south-east by section No. 87 of the same parish; towards the south-west by Section No. 61 of the same parish; and towards the north-west by a public road to the point of commencement.
AWITU NO. 3 KAURI-GUM RESERVE.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, being the south-western portion of Section No. 73 and the north-eastern portion of Section No. 74, both of the Parish of Awitu, containing by admeasurement 131 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the middle portion of Section No. 73 of the Parish of Awitu; towards the south-east by a public road; towards the south-west by the middle portion of Section No. 74 of the Parish of Awitu; and towards the north-west by Section No. 61 of the same parish to the point of commencement.
AWITU NO. 4 KAURI-GUM RESERVE.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, being Section No. 67, the south-western portion of Section No. 68, the south-western portion of Section No. 69, and the north-eastern portion of Section No. 70, all of the Parish of Awitu, containing by admeasurement 345 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Section No. 66, the north-eastern and middle portions of Section No. 68, by a public road, and by the north-east middle portion of Section No. 69, all of the Parish of Awitu; towards the south-east by land granted to the Church Mission Society; towards the south-west generally by the north-east middle portion of Section No. 70 of the Parish of Awitu and by a public road; and towards the north-west by a public road to the point of commencement.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of November, 1901.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the thirteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth hereby, with the like advice and consent, and in respect of the land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers conferred by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Lauder Domain Board, namely,——

WILLIAM JACK,
CHRISTOPHER HUDDLESTONE,
WILLIAM LAIDLAW, and
JOHN WILSON
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,——

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the last Saturday in each month, at two o’clock p.m., at the Schoolhouse, Ophir, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Saturday, the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the last Saturday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

The Board shall prepare and submit at each annual meeting a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of December, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
And with the like advice and consent as aforesaid doth hereby also order that this delegation shall take effect in respect of the parcel of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 200 acres, more or less, and being Section No. 2, Block III., Lauder Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 3 of same block, 3845 links; towards the east by Section No. 7 of same block, 4901 links; towards the south by a road-line, 3845 links; and towards the west by a road-line, 4901 links: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” for a certain public work, to wit, a Native school:
And whereas it has been made a condition of the establishment of the said Native school that the site required therefor shall be a free gift from the Native owners to His Majesty the King, and the Native owners have agreed to such condition, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby;
