And whereas by an order of the Native Land Court, made under the provisions of “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,” and its amendments, bearing date the nineteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, certain aboriginal natives, as in the said order mentioned, were declared to be the owners of the portion of the Tiri-tiri Block within which the said land is situated:
And whereas a map has been prepared in duplicate showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and such map has been duly signed by the Surveyor-General and is hereto attached, and the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this Order in Council should be issued:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the lands shown upon the said map and mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the said Native school: And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council shall take effect on the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and one.

SCHEDULE.
KERIPEHI NATIVE-SCHOOL SITE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, situated in Block VI., Waihou Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a right line bearing south 21° 15′ east, 600 links, from a point distant 231865·6 links south and 342110·6 links east from Mount Eden; thence towards the south-east by a right line bearing west 21° 15′ south, 500 links; thence towards the south-west by a right line bearing north 21° 15′ west, 600 links; and thence towards the north-west by a right line bearing east 21° 15′ north, 500 links, to the place of commencement: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 1900/1267, deposited in the office of the Minister of Education, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

to be Trustees, in the place of James Howard and Henry Harrison, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Blackball Public Cemetery, in conjunction with John Leitch, senior, previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.

IN pursuance of the provisions of the 116th section of “The Public Health Act, 1900,” I hereby give notice that, until pratique is granted by the Health Officer, ships from beyond sea, arriving at the Port of Wellington, shall not be brought higher up the port than the place described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that rectangular area in the harbour of Wellington, comprising about 77 acres, the length whereof lies in a direction bearing by compass N.W. ½ N. for a distance of 2,250 ft., and having a breadth of 1,500 ft. The central point of the said rectangular area lies at the intersection of a line drawn from Point Jerningham to the mouth of the Kaiwarra Stream, and of the production of a line drawn through the Post Office tower and between the green lights shown at the end of the Railway Wharf. The position of the above central point is also obtained by the intersection of the above-mentioned Point Jerningham–Kaiwarra line with a line drawn through the Post Office tower and the dome on the northern end of the Harbour Board’s wool store at the root of the Queen’s Wharf. As the said area is delineated on the plan marked P.H. 946/1901, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Health, and thereon coloured red.
At night a vessel should, when Point Jerningham is abeam, alter course for Kaiwarra lights, and when the green lights at the end of the Railway Wharf are in a line with the clock-light on the Post Office tower, she will be approximately in the centre of the above-mentioned area.
