Proclaiming Road-lines as closed through Land in the Blind River Estate.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General, from which it appears that the roads described in the Schedule hereto are unformed and unused, and that they intersect land acquired under “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and are not suitable for the subdivision of such land:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of section sixty-nine of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby, with the consent of the Awatere Road Board, proclaim as closed and subject to the said Act the road-lines in the Clifford Bay Survey District hereinafter described.

SCHEDULE.

The several parcels of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and one.

WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

SCHEDULE.

MAKINO BLOCK.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 8,608 acres, more or less, being Sections Nos. 2, 3, and 4 of Block VIII., and Nos. 1 and 2 of Block XII., Upper Waitara Survey District, and Sections Nos. 4, 5, 6, and 7, Pouatu Survey District: as the said area is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 44841, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and one.
