WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to take further land in Oamaru Survey District in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the Gisborne-Karaka Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS a part of the Gisborne-Karaka Railway—namely, from Gisborne to a point on the left bank of the Waipaoa River near its junction with the Ngakoroa Stream (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1899”: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point in the Tutaē-o-rewhanga Block, Block II., Turanganui Survey District, distant about 6 chains from the right bank of the Taruheru River, which point is also the point of termination of a portion of the above railway, described in a Proclamation dated the 24th day of February, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 17, of the 1st day of March, 1900; proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly and then in a northerly direction for a distance of about six miles, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., the said Tutaē-o-rewhanga Block; Subdivisions A and No. 3A, Matawhero Block; Subdivisions D, C, B, and A, Tahoka Block; Subdivisions 34A and 9, Makauri Block; all in Block II., Turanganui Survey District: Subdivisions 9, 33B, 18A, 33B, and 33A, Makauri Block; all in Block XIV., Waimata Survey District: Subdivision 33A, Makauri Block; Subdivisions Nos. 42, 46, 47, and 48, Mission Estate; Subdivisions Nos. 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25, Muhunga Block; all in Block I., Waimata Survey District: Subdivisions Nos. 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30, Muhunga Block; Town Sections Nos. 56, 55, and Suburban Section No. 1, Township of Ormond; all in Block
