J. Bull, A. Collie, H. Brown, H. Stewart, R. Seales, M. Cowley, G. T. Mills, G. D. Smith, C. E. Jull, and Mrs. White, and the section abutting on the Valley Road, 151 acres, occupied by Messrs. Martin Bros.:

For the proposal, 33 votes; against the proposal, 23 votes: majority in favour, 10.

I declare the proposal carried.

Result of poll taken on the 22nd day of November, 1900, upon the proposal to borrow £800 for the purpose of draining, forming, culverting, and metalling the Waituki Road, under “The Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1866”:

Number of ratepayers on roll, 14; number of votes on roll, 15; number in favour of proposal, 9; number against the proposal, 2.

As the prescribed majority of votes required were recorded in favour of the proposal, I declare the proposal carried.

WAIPPI ROAD DISTRICT.

Special Order.

Notice is hereby given that the following special order was made on Saturday, the 13th October, 1900, and confirmed on Saturday, the 10th November, 1900:

“That, for the purpose of securing the payment of £100, borrowed by the Board under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ and amending Acts, for the purpose of raising and improving the swamp portion of the Otawa-Bothwell Road, a special rate of 3d. in the pound be struck and levied on Lots 26, 43, 45, 50, 51, 52, 53, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141, 176, and the southern portion of Lots 42, 44, 46, all being of the Waiuku West Parish, the said rate to be an annually recurring one for a period of twenty-six years, by which time the whole debt will be extinguished.”

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

That this Board now make a special rate of 1¾d. in the pound on the rateable values of the following properties—viz., Sections 1, 5, 8 to 15, Block II., Waiopehu Survey District; 10, 15, 16, Block XIV., Mount Robinson Survey District, all inclusive—the above-mentioned sections constituting the Wallace Special Rating District—to provide for interest and other annual charges on a loan of £350 to be raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, for the purpose of regrading, re-forming, and metalling Wallace Road; such rate to be an annually recurring rate for forty-one years, to become due and payable in one instalment on the 1st day of June in each and every succeeding year.

I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly passed in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

PELORUS ROAD BOARD.

Special Order.

Resolved by the Pelorus Road Board, by special order, to readjust the inscribed debt of the said Board, under subsection (1) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899,” at a rate of 4½ per cent. instead of 5 per cent., for twenty-six years, to take effect from the 1st February, 1901, in respect of the loan known as “Special District No. 1,” of £611 7s. 1d.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was proposed at a meeting of the Pelorus Road Board held on 6th November, 1900, and was duly passed at a meeting of the said Board held on 7th December, 1900, in terms of section 75 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

LE BON’S BAY ROAD BOARD.

Special Order.

That this Board, by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by section 4 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899,” will, by special order, readjust the now-existing loan under the original Act, by adopting subsection (1) of section 2 of the aforesaid Act, by which the interest thereon is reduced to 4½ per centum per annum.

I hereby certify that the above special order has been made and confirmed by the Le Bon’s Bay Road Board in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”
