THE following is the result of poll on the proposal to borrow £50 for construction of the Tuha Street (Township of Rangiwahia), Rangiwahia Riding:—

Number of ratepayers on roll, 3, representing 3 votes; votes recorded for the proposal, 3; number of ratepayers voting, 3; votes against, nil.

The number of the valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposed Loan.

RESULT of poll taken on the 5th, 6th, and 7th days of November, 1900, in the Omataroa, Opouriao, and portion of the Waimana Ridings, Whakatane County, upon the proposal to borrow £2,500 from the Government, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and amendments, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and amendments, for the purpose of forming and metalling portions of the Opouriao Valley Road; Awahou Road, Opouriao; Waimana Gorge Road, road from Whakatane to junction with Main Valley Road, reclamation Whakatane, and erecting shed on wharf:—

Number of valid votes recorded in favour of proposal, 68; number of valid votes recorded against proposal, 22.

As the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal is more than three-fifths of the total valid votes recorded at the poll, I therefore declare the proposal carried.

LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Poll for £10,000 Loan.

I HEREBY give notice that the result of the polling on the proposal of the Lyttelton Borough Council to raise a loan of £10,000 for the purpose of the construction of waterworks extension is as follows:—

For the proposal, 128; against the proposal, 7.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” I, Samuel Rollin Webb, Acting-Mayor of the Borough of Lyttelton, do solemnly and sincerely declare,—

  1. That the proposal of the Lyttelton Borough Council to raise £10,000 by way of loan, for the purpose of the construction of waterworks extension, was submitted to a poll of the ratepayers taken at Lyttelton on the 28th day of November, 1900.

  2. That all the proceedings required to be taken by the Municipal Corporations Act and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act in or towards obtaining the sanction of the burgesses of the said Borough of Lyttelton to the said proposal have been duly and properly taken and observed.

  3. That the resolution in favour of the said proposal has been duly carried.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”
