Proclaiming Road as closed through Private Lands in the Featherston Road District, Wainuioru Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed the road hereinafter described, that is to say:—

Approximate Area of the Portion of Road closed. Intersecting Section No. Block. Survey District. Shown on Plan marked Coloured on Plan
A. R. P. 0 2 82 260 IX. Wainuioru Green.

As the same is delineated upon the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the District Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above noted.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

Proclaiming the Taking of a Road through Block IX., Wainuioru Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the owner and mortgagees of the land hereinafter mentioned, and with the consent of the Featherston Road Board, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as a road the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

The parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

Area. Being Portion of Section No. Situated in the Survey District of Shown on Plan marked Coloured on Plan
A. R. P. 1 0 0 260 Block IX., Wainuioru Red.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked as above noted, deposited in the District Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Closing the Police-gaol at Shortland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Prisons Act, 1882,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, declare that any prison or police-gaol shall no longer be a prison or police-gaol; and upon the gazetting of such Proclamation, or from and after any later date fixed in such Proclamation for the purpose, such prison or police-gaol shall cease to be a prison or police-gaol:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that from and after the gazetting of this Proclamation the police-gaol at Shortland, in the Provincial District of Auckland, shall cease to be a police-gaol.

Declaring the Police-station, Thames, a Police-gaol.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Prisons Act, 1882,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declare that such police-stations as he shall name therein shall be police-gaols:

And whereas it is desirable to proclaim the police-station at the Thames, in the Provincial District of Auckland, to be a police-gaol:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that the said building shall be a police-gaol from and after the appearance of this Proclamation in the Gazette.

“The Education Act, 1877.”—Payments to Education Boards.

RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of October, 1899.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Education Act, 1877,” His Excellency the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the colony, doth hereby make the regulation hereto annexed regarding certain payments of capitation allowance to Education Boards; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

REGULATION.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in an Order in Council made on the 5th day of January, 1888,
