Rural Lands in the Otago Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that
the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twentieth day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may,
at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in
perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected
on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased,
as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

Second-class Land.

High broken country; soil fair; well watered. Situated about sixteen miles from Outram and about four to five
miles from Hindon Railway-station. Valuation for improvements, payable with application or immediately the result of
the ballot is declared, £516 14s. 6d.

A broken section of fair quality, well watered. Situated about fourteen miles from Outram and about three miles
from Hindon. Valuation for improvements, payable with application or immediately the result of the ballot is declared,
£6 17s. 6d.

Section 1, open, undulating land; soil light, dry; altitude 1,700 ft.; situated five miles from Ranfurly Railway
station and five miles from Naseby. Section 2, similar to Section 1; valuation for fencing, £14 6s. Section 3, open,
undulating land; altitude, 1,700 ft.; permanent water in Chain Gully; situated three miles and a quarter from Naseby
and four miles and a half from Ranfurly Railway-station; valuation for fencing, £28 8s. 6d. Section 5, similar to
Section 1; valuation for fencing, £16 1s. 9d. Section 7, similar to Section 1; valuation for fencing, £18 4s. 6d. Section 8,
similar to Section 1.

Section 17, open, undulating land; soil light; fairly well watered; situated four miles from Naseby and seven miles
and a half from Ranfurly Railway-station. Section 18, open, undulating land; soil fairly good; well watered, except in
very dry seasons; situated six miles from Ranfurly Railway-station and three miles from Naseby; valuation for fencing,
£7 17s. 6d. Section 19, similar to Section 18. Section 20, similar to Section 18; valuation for improvements, £14 8s.
Section 22, open, level land; soil light and gravelly; situated five miles and a quarter from Ranfurly Railway-station
and three miles from Naseby; valuation for fencing, £1 13s. Section 23, similar to Section 22; valuation for fencing,
£23 1s. 6d.

Level land of fair quality, with shingly subsoil; water may be obtained by sinking. Situated about six to seven
miles from Ophir. Valuation for improvements, payable with application or immediately the result of the ballot is
declared, are as follows: Section 8, £74; Sections 9, 10, 20, and 21, grouped, £164 9s. 6d.; Sections 11, 12, 18, 19, grouped,
£31 9s. 3d.; Sections 22, 23, 24, grouped, £38 11s.

Fairly good land, well watered. Situated about two miles from Hamilton South School and Post-office. Valuation
for improvements, payable with application or immediately the result of the ballot is declared, £75 8s. 6d.

Open land, dry. Situated about three miles from Ophir. Valuation for improvements, payable with application or
immediately the result of the ballot is declared, £12 16s. 6d.

Swampy land; situated at the head of Lake Wakatipu, about four miles from Glenorchy. Valuation for improvements,
payable with application or immediately the result of the ballot is declared: Section 27, £4 11s.; Section 28,
£5 17s.; Section 29, £6 6s.; Section 30, £5 8s.; Section 31, £12 12s.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-nine.
