Setting apart Land in Marlborough for Leasing as a Small Grazing-run under “The Land Act, 1892.”

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one-hundred-and-seventy-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of sections one hundred and seventy-two to one hundred and eighty-six of Part V. of “The Land Act, 1892,” relating to small grazing-runs.

Land set apart as a Site for a Native Township in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the third section of “The Native Townships Act, 1895,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcel of Native land situated in the Wellington Land District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby set apart as a site for a Native township, and I do hereby assign the name of “Potaka” to such Native township.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 138 acres, more or less, being portion of Subdivision 4c No. 9 of the Awarua Block, situated in Block III., Hautapu Survey District. Bounded towards the east by the Hautapu River from a point on its right bank 350 links due east of Trig. Station K, 2650 links; towards the north-west by lines bearing 251° 30′, 1690·7 links, and 247° 4′, 2381·3 links; towards the south-west by lines bearing 145° 19′, 1890 links, and 147° 8′, 1243·9 links, to the south-east side of the main road; again towards the north-west by the said road, 1267 links; towards the south by a line bearing 94° 58′, 2742 links, to the Hautapu River; and again towards the east by that river to the point due east of Trig. Station K first mentioned: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less (excluding from the above-described area all railway land): as the same is delineated upon the plan marked No. 16584-35, deposited in the District Office of the Lands and Survey Department at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amendments, for a quarry:
And whereas the Hawke’s Bay County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said quarry.

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 41232, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

“The Education Act, 1877.”—Payments to Education Boards.
RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first day of July, 1899.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Education Act, 1877,” His Excellency the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the colony, doth hereby make the regulation hereto annexed regarding certain payments of capitation allowance to Education Boards; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
REGULATION.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in an Order in Council made on the 5th day of January, 1888, under the provisions of “The Education Act, 1877,” relating (inter alia) to attendance registers and returns, the payment of capitation allowance to Education Boards for the quarter ending on the 30th day of September, 1899, shall be according to the working-average attendance of the quarter ending on the 30th day of June, 1899, as working average was defined by Order in Council dated the 5th day of July, 1887, and made under the provisions of the before-mentioned Act.
