A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the one-hundred-and-sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby revoke that part of a Proclamation dated the twentieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 29, dated the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, setting apart land for Akitio Improved-farm Special Settlement, as set forth in the Schedule hereto.

Proclaiming Borough of Te Aroha, County of Piako.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” the Governor is empowered by Proclamation to declare any portion of the Colony of New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act from and after a day to be named in such Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the said Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly appointed Deputy, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted as from the second day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, a borough under the said Act; and I do further proclaim and declare that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Te Aroha, and that the boundaries thereof shall be those described in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland situate in the Aroha Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a line running due east from a point due north of the southernmost corner of Te Ruakaka Block and due west of Te Aroha Trig. Station to the boundary-line between Emma Lipsey and others’ block of land and that of Rina Mokena and others; thence towards the north-east by the latter block of land to the easternmost corner of the former; thence towards the south-east by a straight line to a point in line with the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 16, Block IX., Aroha Survey District (Hot Springs Reserve) and 2300 links distant in a north-easterly direction from the north-western corner of that section; thence again towards the north-east by a line bearing E. 51° 15′ S. 2271 links; thence by a straight line to the source of the Heanga Stream; thence again towards the south-east by a line along the middle of that stream to the Waihou River; thence towards the south-west by a line along the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Te Ruakaka Block aforesaid; thence towards the north-west by a straight line to that block; and thence towards the west by a straight line due north to the place of commencement.

Abolishing Papakura River District, County of Hawke’s Bay.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The River Boards Act, 1884,” it is, among other things, enacted that the Governor may, on petition signed by not less than two-thirds in number of the ratepayers of a river district, abolish any such district:

And whereas a petition, signed as aforesaid, has been duly presented, praying that the Papakura River District, established under the said Act, may be abolished:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, the said Papakura River District shall be and the same is hereby abolished.

Given under the hand of Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly appointed Deputy in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The River Boards Act, 1884,” it is, among other things, enacted that the Governor may, on petition signed by not less than two-thirds of the ratepayers of a river district, enlarge, alter, or diminish any such district; and also that when any district is altered under the said enactment the Governor shall, in the Proclamation making such alteration, make such redistribution of the members of the Board as he shall think fit:
