And whereas a petition, signed as aforesaid, has been duly presented, praying that the Clive River District may be altered, and that the boundaries thereof may be those set forth in the Schedule hereto:
And whereas it appears expedient to grant the prayer of the said petition:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby alter the boundaries of the Clive River District, and do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto; and also do hereby redistribute the members of the Clive River Board as constituted immediately before the date when this Proclamation comes into force, and declare that such members shall be the members of the Board for the said district as altered hereby, and that this Proclamation shall come into force on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
SCHEDULE.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 24,300 acres, more or less, situate in the Heretaunga, Te Mata, and Clive Survey Districts, commencing at the north-east corner of the Hastings Borough boundary; thence bounded on the south-west and south-east by the Hastings Borough boundary to its intersection with the Hastings-Napier Road; thence on the south-east by the north side of the said Hastings-Napier Road to the old Ngaruroro River to Danvers’ Creek; thence on the west by the old Ngaruroro River to Danvers’ Creek; thence on the south-east by the south-eastern boundary of the Mangatetere East Blocks to the Tukituki River; thence again on the south-east by the western bank of the Tukituki River to the sea; thence on the east by the sea-coast to its intersection with a public road along the northern boundary of the Ballast Reserve; thence on the north by the said public road to the Swamp Road; thence again on the east by the Swamp Road to its intersection with a line due east from the north-west corner of Suburban Section 8, Block VIII., Heretaunga District (Papakura); thence on the north by a line due west to the north-west corner of said Suburban Section 8 (Papakura); thence on the north-east by a line from the north-west corner of said Suburban Section 8 (Papakura) to the south side of the Black Bridge, and again on the north-east by the overflow channel to the Tutaekuri River; thence on the north by the Tutaekuri River to the Redclyffe Bridge; thence generally on the north-west by the Omahu-Napier Road to the boundary-line between Subdivisions 2 and 3, Waipiropiro Block; thence on the south-west by the boundary between Subdivisions 2 and 3, Waipiropiro Block, to the northern bank of the Ngaruroro River; thence generally by the northern bank of the Ngaruroro River to the Omahu Bridge; thence on the west by the Omahu Bridge to the south bank of the Ngaruroro River; on south-west by the south bank of the Ngaruroro River to the south-eastern boundary of the Fernhill Township; on the north-west by the south-eastern boundary of the Fernhill Township to the Fernhill-Hastings Road; thence on the west and south-west by the Fernhill-Hastings Road to the Hastings Borough boundary; thence on the south-east by the Hastings Borough boundary to the commencing-point.
Given under the hand of Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly appointed Deputy in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by subsection three (d) of section six of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1887,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby name the Government Advances to Settlers Office as a lending department of the Government within the meaning of the aforesaid Act.

WHEREAS by “The Deeds Registration Act, 1868,” section four, it is enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time define and alter the limits of any deeds registration district under the said Act:
And whereas it is desirable to alter the boundaries of the Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, and Wellington Deeds Registration Districts:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly appointed Deputy, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order that, from and after the date hereof, the boundaries of the Deeds Registration Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, and Wellington shall be as described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND DEEDS REGISTRATION DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the north and north-east generally by the sea: towards the south-east generally by the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Whangaparaoa No. 2 Block, the eastern and southern boundaries of Waikura Block, and the south-eastern boundary of Kumi No. 1 Block to Whanakao Trig. Station; thence by the summit of the leading range to Purahotakaha Trig. Station; thence by a right line in the direction of Puketoetoe Trig. Station to the Motu River; thence by that river to a point due east of the south-eastern corner of Whitikau No. 2 Block; thence by a right line to that corner; thence by the southern boundaries of Whitikau No. 2 and No. 3A Blocks, by the south-eastern boundaries of Oamaru Nos. 7, 6, 5, 2, and 1 Blocks, and the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned block produced to the western boundary of Tahora No. 2 Block; thence by the western boundary of that block and by the Waipaoa Block, the northern and western shores of Waikaremoana to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Block V., Waiau Survey District (education reserve); thence by a right line to and by that boundary-line and by the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 1, Block VIII., Mangahopai Survey District, to the Waiau River; thence by that river to the north-western boundary of Maungataniwha Block; thence by that block and the Te Hoe River to the northern boundary of Tatara-o-kina Block: thence towards the south generally by Tatara-o-kina, Tarawera, Te Matai, and Te Matai No. 1 Block, by the Mohaka River, the Oamaru Stream, and Tapapa No. 2 Block, by the Ngaruroro River, and by Kaimanawa No. 1f, Kaimanawa No. 2b, and Te Hautu Blocks to Lake Taupo; thence by a right line to the mouth of the Kuratou Stream; thence by that stream, by the north-western boundary of the Oraukura Block, and the south-eastern boundaries of the Ruamata, Pukepoto, and Waione Blocks, to the Wanganui River, by a line along the middle of that river to its intersection by a right line running from a point where the 39th parallel of south latitude intersects the Wanganui River to the source of the Mokau River; thence by that line to the source of the said Mokau River, and by a line along the middle of that river to the ocean: and thence towards the west and south-west generally by the ocean to the place of commencement: including the adjacent islands and the Kermadec Islands.

Bounded towards the north and east generally by the sea: towards the south generally by a line along the middle of the Waimata Stream and the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 1, Block XIII., Tautane Survey District, to Trig. Station 39A; thence by the southern boundaries of
