brought within the jurisdiction of the Native Land Court
established under the said Act.
And it is hereby further declared that this Order shall
take effect on and after the eleventh day of September, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.
SCHEDULE.
The parcels of land, containing respectively 38 acres and
173 acres, shown as Native reserves on the plan of the
Rangiuru Block, in the Bay of Plenty District, which lands
were excepted from adjudication on the division of the said
block by the Native Land Court.

Varying Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
by the Native owner of the land described in the
Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alien-
ation of such land originally imposed by section twenty-four
of the First Schedule to “The Special Powers and Contracts
Act, 1886,” and now contained in the Land Transfer certi-
ficate bearing date the twenty-sixth day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, may be varied:
And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native
Land Court, and the said Court has recommended that
such restrictions be varied:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by the fifty-second section of “The Native
Land Court Act, 1894,” and in accordance with the recom-
mendation of the Native Land Court, doth hereby order and
declare that the restrictions imposed by the said Act and
the said Land Transfer certificate on the alienation of the
said land are hereby varied by adding thereto the words
“without the consent of the Governor.”
SCHEDULE.
All those parcels of land, situate in the Provincial District
of Wellington, containing respectively 61 acres and 34
perches, and 70 acres, being Sections Nos. 19 and 23 on the
plan of the subdivision of Section 153 of the Township of
Sandon, held under Land Transfer certificate dated the 26th
October, 1891, Vol. lxi., folio 58, in favour of Hepi te Wheoro,
and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable ex-
cept by lease for not exceeding twenty-one years in possession,
and not in reversion without premium or forfeit and with-
out agreement or covenant for renewal or for purchase at
any time.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this first day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-seven.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
by the Native owners of the land described in the
Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alien-
ation of such land contained in the Land Transfer certificate
bearing date the first day of December, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven, and now contained in Land Trans-
fer certificate bearing date the second day of December, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, may be removed:
And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native
Land Court, and the said Court has recommended that such
restrictions be removed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers conferred on him by the fifty-second section of “The
Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and in accordance with the
recommendation of the Native Land Court, doth hereby
order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said
Land Transfer certificate on the alienation of the said land
are hereby removed.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land, containing 1 rood 38·5 perches,
situate in the City of Wellington, being Lot No. 1 of
Section 23 of the Polhill’s Gully Native Reserve, held
under Land Transfer certificate dated 2nd December, 1889,
Vol. liii., folio 198, in favour of Hana Te Awhitu, and
containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale
or mortgage, or by lease beyond twenty-one years.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this first day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-seven.
