Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland,
Marlborough, and Southland.
RANFURLY, Governor.
W HEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or parti-
cular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that
the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me
by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale
the lands in the Land Districts of Auckland, Marlborough,
and Southland described in the Schedule hereto, for the
purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the
description of the lands so intended to be temporarily re-
served.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 2 acres and 20 perches, more or
less, being part of Kawhia K No. 1 Block, situated in Kawhia
North Survey District. Bounded towards the south by
Rosamond Terrace, 709 links; towards the west by lines,
302 and 485 links; towards the north by lines, 108 and 102
links ; and towards the east by lines, 157, 116, 121, 245, and
46 links. For a Native-school site.
MARLBOROUGH.
All those parcels of land in the Marlborough Land Dis-
trict, being Section No. 7, Block I., Arapawa Survey District,
containing 280 acres; Sections Nos. 24, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 32,
33, 34, 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40, containing 3 acres each, and
Section No. 35, containing 3 acres and 5 perches, Block I.
aforesaid; Section No. 7A, Block II., Arapawa Survey
District, containing 768 acres 2 roods 3 perches, more or
less; Sections Nos. 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19,
20, and 21, containing 3 acres each, and Section No. 22, con-
taining 3 acres and 20 perches, Block II. aforesaid; Section
No. 10, Block VI., Gore Survey District, containing 492
acres, and Sections Nos. 13, 14, 15, and 16, Block VI. afore-
said, containing 3 acres each; Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4,
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26,
27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43,
44, 45, 46, 47, and 48, Block VII., Gore Survey District, con-
taining 3 acres each, and Section No. 49, containing 1,328
acres, Block VII. aforesaid; Sections Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,

27, 28, 29, and 32, Block XI., Gore Survey District, contain-
ing 3 acres each; Section No. 5, containing 3 acres 1 rood,
Section No. 30, containing 3 acres 18 perches, Section No.
31, containing 2 acres 3 roods 6 perches, Section No. 33, con-
taining 2 acres 3 roods 22 perches, Section No. 34, containing
3 acres 29 perches, and Section No. 35, containing 761
acres, Block XI. aforesaid; Section No. 2, Block XII., Gore
Survey District, containing 74 acres; Sections Nos. 3, 4, 5,
6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27,
and 28, containing 3 acres each, Section No. 14, containing
256 acres, and Section No. 22, containing 242 acres, Block
XII. aforesaid: as the same are more particularly delineated
on plans marked S.G. 14211, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District. For the use and support of
aboriginal natives.
SOUTHLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Southland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less, being
part of Section No. 533, Hokonui Survey District. Bounded
towards the north-east by a public road, 800 links; towards
the south-east by part of said Section No. 533, 500 links;
towards the south-west by part of said Section No. 533,
800 links; and towards the north-west by part of said
Section No. 533, 500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Invercargill. For a
public cemetery.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven.

I N exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by
“The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I,
Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint that, from and
after the date hereof, the wharf known as
The Quay Street Jetty No. 3
shall be deemed and taken to be a legal landing-place at the
Port of Auckland for the lading and unlading of goods under
“The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Trustee for Huirangi Public Cemetery appointed.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries
Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Robert Wells
to be a Trustee, in the place of William J. Cleave, resigned,
to provide for the maintenance and care of the Huirangi
Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed
by warrants under the hand of His Excellency the Governor.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of August, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-seven.
