Lands temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Wellington, and Canterbury.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Land Districts of Auckland, Wellington, and Canterbury enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule, and opposite the descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

Rural Lands in the Marlborough Land District open for Sale or Selection.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twentieth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Partly hill, and partly terrace and flat, covered with mixed bush; soil good on lower flats skirting the stream, poor on hills. Situated within half a mile of the main road from Havelock to Nelson, and distant about fourteen miles from Havelock.

Five acres light bush, remainder fern and scrub; well watered; broken pastoral country; poor, rocky soil. Accessible by road, six miles from Havelock.
