Land taken for a Road in Connection with the Further Extension of the Whangarei-Kamo Railway to a Point in Hukerenui Survey District (Whakapara Section).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under "The Public Works Act, 1894," for a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road in connection with the further extension of the Whangarei-Kamo Railway to a point in Hukerenui Survey District (Whakapara Section):
And whereas an agreement for the taking of the estate in fee-simple of the said land has been entered into, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this Proclamation should be issued:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by "The Public Works Act, 1894," and of every other power and authority in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road. And it is hereby declared that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Horse-shoe Drainage District extended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of August, 1897.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the fifth section of "The Land Drainage Act, 1893," a majority of the ratepayers in the area described in the First Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Manawatu, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand praying that the land comprised in the said area be added to the Horse-shoe Drainage District as constituted under the provisions of the said Act: Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the fifth section of "The Land Drainage Act, 1893," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the areas of land described in the said petition, and in the First Schedule hereto, shall be added to the said Horse-shoe Drainage District, and that the boundaries of the said drainage district, with such addition as herein provided for, shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
AREAS PROPOSED TO BE ADDED TO THE HORSE-SHOE DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Te Kawaii Survey District, bounded towards the north-east by the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 39, Block II.; towards the south-east by the Carnarvon-Sandon Tramway; towards the south-west by Section No. 124, Block VI.; and towards the north-west generally by Sections Nos. 108, 83, 84, and 67, Block VI., and Section No. 46, Block II., Te Kawaii Survey District.
Also, all that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Te Kawaii and Kairanga Survey Districts, bounded towards the north generally by a right line from a point on the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 5, Block III., Te Kawaii Survey District, distant about 16 chains from its south-western corner, to a point on the eastern boundary-line of that section distant about 20 chains from its south-eastern corner; thence by a right line running parallel to the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 6, 7, and 8, Block III., Te Kawaii Survey District, to the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section; thence by that boundary-line to the westernmost corner of Section
