Rivers in Auckland District notified under “The Timber-floating Act, 1884.”

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the second section of “The Timber-floating Act, 1884,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the rivers specified in the Schedule hereto may be used under license for the purposes of the said Act.

Awana Stream or Creek,
Kiwiriki Stream or Creek,
Wairiki Stream or Creek,
Kaitoke Stream or Creek,
Whangapoua Stream or Creek,
Whangaparapara Stream or Creek,
with all their respective tributary streams and branches.
Situated at the Great Barrier Island.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Additional Land taken in Wairarapa Survey District for the Purposes of the Wellington-Napier Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Wellington-Napier Railway to take further land in Wairarapa Survey District,
in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.
