The cost of bringing the machines or appliances on to the
ground, from within the county, supply the necessary
stuffing, motor power, and buildings, to be defrayed by the
Government. If any machine sent from beyond the county
is aworded the bonus or part thereof, then the cost of
brining such machine shall be borne by the Government.

The following shall be the basis of the test:—
The committee shall supply a sufficient and equal quan-tity of green Hemp to each machine or process as a test.
The committee shall take into considerations—
The time occuipied by each machine or process in the
operation ;
The cost of labor and time required after the fibre has
left the machine or process before it is ready for
baling ;
The percentage of dresed fibre and tow produced by
each machine or process ;
The cost of production ;
The cost of the machine, and the simplicity and dura-bility of the working parts.
On completion of the tests the committee shall furnish a
report to the Minister on all the machines or processes which
(1.) The machine or process which they consider on the
(2.) Whether they consider that any machine or process
(3.) Whether, in the event of no one machine or process
being entitiled to the whole bonus, they deen any
and, if so, how much.

BONUS NO. 2.

A bonus of £250 is offered for a process of utilising the
waste products of the Hemp.
The first three conditions of BONUS NO. 1 to apply to this
The committee shall supply a sufficient and equal quantity
of the waste products to each process as a test.
On completion of the tests the committee shall report to
the Minister, and shall give the following particulars of each
process: (a.) The nature of the article made. (b.) The
quantity produced, and the cost of production. (c.) The
value of the product. (d.) Whether any of the processes are
of sufficient importance to warrant the Minister in giving
(1) the whole, or (2) any part, of the bonus; (3) if a part
only, how much.

Public Notce under "The Stock Act, 1893," re Lier-fluke.—
Notice No. 470.

    Department of Agriculture (Livestock Brach), 
    Wellington, 5th January, 1897.

I t having been reported to me that the disease known as
"liver-fluke" exists amongs sheen running on certain
lands in the Hawke's Bay Land District, I therefore, in
accorance with section 14, subsecion 4 of "The Stock Act,
1893," here declare the under-mentioned lands to be an
inflected place from which no sheen, carcase, or any portion
therof shall be removed except under the direction of an
Inspectior of Stock:—

All that piece or parcell of land, known as the Te Aute
Run, situate in the Wapawa, Hawke's Bay, and Patangata
Counties, bounded as follows: Commencing at the Te Aute
Railway-station, thence in a northerly direction along the
boundary of the Te Hauke Proclaim District to the point

where the prologation of the boudary between Lots 1
and 2 of the Nga-whakatara Block continued across the
Poukawa Lake would strike it; thence easterly along the said
line and boudary to the Tukitui River; thence up that river
to the south boudary of Patangata No. 2; thence westerly
along the souther boudary of that block to the Papanui
Stream; thence up that stream and the easter boudary of
Pataangata No. 3 to the souther boudary of that block ;
thence westerly along the souther boudaries of Patangata
No. 3 and the Otahe Block to the south-east corner of the
land granted to the Bishop of Wellington; thence westerly
along the souther boudary of the aforesaid land to the
souther boudary of Sebastpol No. 3 Paddok; thence
westerly along that boudary to the south-west corner of
that paddock; thence northerly along the wester boudaries
of the aforesaid paddock and of the land granted to the
Biship of Wellington to the north-west corner of the said
land; thence easterly along the norther boudary of the
aforesaid land to the main Kairora North and Te Aute
Road; thence northerly along that road to a road running
though the Poupoutahi Block; thence easterly along that
road to where it crosses the railway-line; thence northerly
along the railway-line to the point of commecement.

All that piece or parcell of land, called or known as the
"Fluke Paddock," containing about 74 aeres, situate in
the Te Mahunga Run, Te Mata, Survery District, Hawke's
Ba County.

Distrct, called Te Hauke, and containing about 9,000 aeres,
being parts of BLocks XII. and XVI., Maraekakau Survery
Distrct, and BLocks IX. and XIII., Te Mata Survery Distrct,
In the Hawke's Bay County. Bounded by a line starting at
the north-eastern corner of Block 13, in Block XVI., Maraekakau Survery Distrct; thence in a north-east direction by
a right line to Trig. Sation N; thence northerly by a right
line to the south-west corner of the Wairareo Block; thence
generally north-easterly by the north-western boudaries of
the Raukawa Nos. 3 and 2 BLocks, the Pukehau No. 1, and
the Poukawa Naitive Resere, and Koparokore A to the
north-western corner of the last-named block; thence south-easterly by the north-eastern boudary A and B to its
interection with the railway-line; thence south-westerly
by a right line to Te Aute Railway-station; thence south-west by the railway-line to its intesection with the Hawke's
Ba County boudary; thence generally north-westerly by
the aforesaid boudary to the starting point.

All that parcell of land in the Land Distrct of Hawke's
Ba, being called or known by the name of the "Ram
Paddock," containing about 80 aeres, being a portion of
Whenuahou C Nos. 1 and 2 North, in Block III., Tahoraiti
Suervey Distrct, Wapawa County. Bounded on the north-west by the Porengahau Stream; on the north and east by
BLoacks 120 and 69; and on the south generally by other
portion of Whenuahou C Nos. 1 and 2 North, aforesaid.

All that piece or parcell of land in the Land Distrct of
Hawke's Ba, being called or known by the name of
"Takapau Paddock," containing about 190 aeres, being
portion of Subdivison No. 3, Otawhao Block, in Block III.,
Takapau Survery Distrct, Wapawa County. Bounded on
the north by BLoacks 234 and 120; on the south generally by
the Porengahau Stream and a public road and on the west
by the railway-line.

All that piece or parcell of land in the Land Distrct of
Hawke's Ba, called or known as "Rees Davi Paddock,"
containing 110 aeres, being Section 7 of Whenuahou D.E.
No. 1 Block, in V. and V. Takapau Survery Distrct,
Wapawa County. Bounded on the south-east by a public
road; on the south-west by a public road; on the north-west by Section 6; and on the north-east by Section 8.

All that parcell of land in the Hawke's Ba Land Distrct,
call or known by the name of "Sebstopol 3 Paddock,"
containing about 530 aeres, situate in Block III., Wapukura
Suvery Distrct, Wapawa County, being part of the
land granted to the Bishop of Wellington, and situate in
the south-west corner of the aforesaid land.
