Validating a Meeting of Burgesses of the Borough of Dannevirke.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of May, 1897.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Council of the Borough of Dannevirke, pursuant to section one hundred and seventy-eight of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” published a notice respecting a proposal to raise a special loan of two thousand five hundred pounds for four successive weeks, the last date upon which such notice was published being the thirteenth day of March last :
And whereas the Mayor of the said borough published a notice calling a meeting of the burgesses for the purpose of considering the proposal to raise the said loan, and fixed the twenty-ninth March last as the date of such meeting, and such meeting was held on that day :
And whereas it is provided by section one hundred and seventy-nine of the said Act that the meeting for such purpose shall be held not later than ten days after the last publication of the notice respecting a proposal to raise a special loan, and it is expedient to validate the holding of the said meeting :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in him by the said “Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the said meeting of burgesses held on the twenty-ninth March last shall be deemed to be as valid for the purposes of the said Act as though the same had been held within the time required by the aforesaid section one hundred and seventy-nine of the said Act.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council issued on the second day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, under the provisions of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”) the Greytown Hospital was incorporated as a separate institution under the said Act by the style and title of “The Greytown Hospital Contributors” : And whereas it is expedient to alter the style and title of the said Hospital as conferred by the said recited Order in Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by the said Act and “The Interpretation Act, 1878,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby order and declare that the style and title of the said Hospital shall be “The South Wairarapa Hospital,” and that the said recited Order in Council of the second day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, shall be and be deemed to be amended accordingly.

The Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association incorporated.—Notice No. 484.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877,” His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby incorporate the members of the Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and such persons as shall hereafter be admitted members of the said association agreeably to the rules of the said association and the provisions of the said Act, into a body corporate under the said Act, under the style and title of “The Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association.”

Rural Land in the Canterbury Land District open for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Cheviot Estate Disposition Act, 1893,” and the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said one hundred and thirty-sixth section is provided, do hereby declare that on and after the fourteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, the rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892”; and I do hereby declare that the rental at which the said land shall be leased shall be that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Agricultural land, good soil, sandy loam; sunny eastern aspect, overlooking the ocean; good English and native grasses; not well watered; all ploughable; about half the area is steep; accessible by good road, one mile from Port Robinson. The section is weighted with a sum of £5, being value of boundary-fencing, hut, and other small improvements, which sum must be paid on allotment.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this sixth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the fourteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be
