MASTERTON ROAD DISTRICT.
RESULT of a poll taken upon the 7th day of April, 1897, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £300 for the purpose of reconstructing the bridge over the Waipoua River, on the Miki Miki Road :—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 11, exercising 19 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal, 9, exercising 17 votes; number of votes unrecorded, 2.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers on the special roll voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the resolution to proceed with the proposal to be carried.

MOA ROAD BOARD.
RESULT of poll of ratepayers of the Hursthouse and Lepper Roads Special Rating District, taken on the 24th day of March, 1897, upon the following proposal: (1.) To form and metal the Hursthouse Road and erect a bridge on same, and form a portion of the Lepper Road south of the Hursthouse Road, starting from the junction of the Hursthouse and Lepper Roads. (2.) To borrow for such purpose the sum of £225 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886.” (3.) To strike as security for such loan a special rate of 6d. in the pound. (4.) To constitute the “Hursthouse and Lepper Roads Special Rating District,” to comprise the following lands: viz., Sections 133 (in two subdivisions), 134 (in three subdivisions), 135 (in four subdivisions), 136, 137 (in two subdivisions), 140, 100 (in two subdivisions), Tarurutangi; and part 99, Moa :—
Total number of ratepayers on special roll, 9; total number of votes exercisable, 10: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 6; number of votes recorded against the proposal, nil; number of votes not recorded, 4.
I hereby declare the proposal carried.

WIROKINO ROAD BOARD.
RESULT of poll of ratepayers of the Horowhenua Village-homestead Settlement Rating District, taken on the 10th day of April, 1897, upon the proposal to raise a loan of £250 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of constructing a road through the said special district :—
Number of ratepayers on the roll, 16; number of votes, 16: Number of ratepayers in favour, 10; number of votes in favour, 10; number of ratepayers against, 6; number of votes against, 6; majority of ratepayers in favour, 4; majority of votes in favour, 4.
A majority of ratepayers, exercising a majority of the votes, having voted in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the same to be carried.

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE MANCHESTER ROAD BOARD.
THAT this Board, under the provisions of “The Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and under and by virtue of a warrant issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand dated the 2nd day of January, 1890, authorising the Rangitikei County Council to charge the Manchester Road Board with one-third share of cost of managing and maintaining the Onepuhi Bridge over the Rangitikei River at Onepuhi, borrow a further sum of £300 for the purpose of providing share of cost of repairing the said bridge in accordance with the above-mentioned warrant; and that a special rate of 1½d. in the pound be hereby made upon the rateable value of the whole of the rateable property (Crown and Native land excepted) within the Manchester Road District for the purpose of providing interest on the above loan of £300 to be borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” such rate to be annually recurring for twenty-six years, and payable in equal half-yearly instalments on the 1st days of April and October in each year.
I hereby declare that the above special order was made by the Manchester Road Board at a meeting held on the 6th day of February, and confirmed on the 3rd day of April, 1897.

MOA ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.
(1) THAT, to secure the repayment of a loan of £150 raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming and metalling the Dudley Road East, (2) a special rate of 1½d. in the pound to be made and levied over the following lands, which are hereby constituted the “Dudley Road East Special Rating District”: Sections 3, 4, 5, part 18, and 19, 20, Moa. Such rate to be an annual-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable in two half-yearly instalments on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each year.”
