Powers delegated to the Temuka Park Public Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”
GLASGOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twentieth day of January, 1897.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke an Order in Council, dated the thirteenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but only with respect to the pieces or parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Temuka Park Public Domain Board, namely,—

WILLIAM GRIGSON ASPINALL,
The CHAIRMAN, Temuka Road Board, ex officio,
The CHAIRMAN, Temuka Town Board, ex officio, and
The CHAIRMAN, Arowhenua Town Board, ex officio
(hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the second Friday in each month, at eight o’clock p.m., at the office of the Temuka Town Board, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board; and the business shall be conducted under such regulations as shall be determined by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Friday, the twelfth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second Friday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 183 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 307, situate in the Township of Arowhenua. Bounded on the north by High Street and by Reserve No. 277; on the west by the said Reserve, and also by the reserve for railway; on the east by Taumatahahu Creek; and on the south by the bank of the River Tumuku.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 1561, situate in the Opihi Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 19012, 3580 links; towards the east by same section, 1250 links; towards the west by a road-line, 1499 links; and towards the south by Section No. 19010, 4400 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.

Gisborne Recreation-ground brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twentieth day of January, 1897.

THE HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, and known as the Gisborne Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 1 rood 22 perches, more or less, being Section No. 218, Town of Gisborne, as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the Office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier.

Delegating Powers under “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” to the Hawera County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twentieth day of January, 1897.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by “The Cemeteries Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby delegate to the Council of the Hawera County the powers conferred upon him by section six of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” as to the appointment and removal of trustees for the cemetery described in the Schedule hereto; and doth declare that this Order in Council shall take effect as from the day of the date hereof.

OKAIawa CEMETERY.
ALL that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section No. 56, Okaiawa Settlement, Block IV., Waimate Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 57, 714 links; towards the east by Section No. 60, 1401 links; towards the south-west by a road, 714 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 55, 1401 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

WHEREAS by the twenty-seventh section of “The River Boards Act, 1884,” it is enacted that on the second Tuesday in January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, and on the same day in every third year thereafter, all the members of the Board shall go out of office, and a general election of members shall take place: And whereas by misadventure no election was held on the second Tuesday in January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven (being the day upon which an election should have been held), to elect members of the Wakanui River Board :
