Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the second day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Undulating to broken forest land on Utakura River; access by track from coach-road to Horeke, three miles distant.

Mixed forest, level land; one mile from Taheke on formed cart-road, and between the Punakitere and Otaua Rivers.

Broken forest land, clay soil; five miles from Peria.

Broken forest land, good soil; about ten miles from Matakohe.

Open land at Kaiwaka, on main North Road.

Fern and tea-tree land, well watered; about four miles from Tokatoka.

Mixed-forest land, fair soil; about eight miles from Raglan.

About one-third open, balance broken forest land; six miles from Waipu.

Broken forest land, fair to medium quality; situated from eight to nine miles from Waipu Post-office.

Open fern and tea-tree land; about nine miles from Hunua Railway-station.

All sandhills south of Lighthouse Reserve, Manukau South Head.

Section 10c, broken land, generally open, with clumps of mixed bush. Section 20, all open land, fronting Ruatuna Stream. Both lots three to four miles from Matakohe.

Swampy land near Aturoa Village, Te Puke.
