Extending Time for Annual Meeting, Borough of Campbell-
town.
RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth
day of December, 1897.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the annual meeting of the Council of the
Borough of Campbelltown was not held on the
date prescribed by section ninety-nine of "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1886," and it is expedient to extend the
time for holding the said meeting:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested
in him by the sixth section of "The Municipal Corporations
Act Amendment Act, 1887," and by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
doth hereby order and declare that the time for holding the
annual meeting of the Council of the Borough of Campbell-
town for the installation of the Mayor shall be and the same
is hereby extended, and that the said meeting shall be held
at the Borough Council Chambers at half-past seven o'clock
in the afternoon of Thursday, the twenty-third day of
December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven,
and also that the declaration referred to in section
seventy-nine of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,"
may be made by the Mayor at any time before such installa-
tion.

Fixing Date of Payment of Income-tax for the Year 1897-98.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of December, 1897.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in him under "The Land-tax and Income-tax
Act, 1897," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and
determine that the respective duties leviable under the said
Act by way of income-tax shall be paid in one sum, on
Friday, the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-eight.
And in further pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as
aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the place
where the said duties of income-tax shall be payable shall
be the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, at the Govern-
ment Buildings, Wellington, and that notice to the fore-
going effect shall be given by the said Commissioner accord-
ingly.

Rural Lands in the Taranaki Land District open for Sale or Selection.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare
that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the second
day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule
may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease
in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be
selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or
leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased
under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

Good pastoral country; papa formation; well watered; covered with forest comprising rimu, rata, tawa. Frontage
to Mangaehu Road and River. About twenty-three miles from Stratford Railway-station. Access by Ohura Road,
Mangaotuku and Mangaehu Roads. A horse may be taken to within three-quarters of a mile of this section, and a bridge
has recently been constructed over the junction of the Mangaehu River and Mangaotuku Stream, improving the access to
this section.

These sections form portion of the Terrace End Special Settlement, and are situate from two and a half to nine miles
from the Township of Strathmore, which in turn is about twenty-five miles from Stratford Railway-station, via the
Ohura Road, which is partly metalled, and the balance formed for dray traffic. A considerable sum of money has been
spent in opening up the Taihore and other roads in the settlement, and most of the sections can be easily reached. A wire-
rope bridge has been erected over the Mangaehu River, near the junction of the same with the Puniwhakau Stream. The
sections comprise from rough to fair pastoral land, well watered, on a papa formation; and the timber with which the
land is covered comprises rimu, rata, tawa, &c., with usual undergrowth.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirteenth day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven.
