THE following notice, received from the Chairman of
the Manganui Road Board, is published in accord-
ance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1886.”

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.
Result of poll of ratepayers of the Denbigh Road Special
Area, taken on Monday, the 26th October, 1896, upon the
proposal to raise a loan of £1,000, under “The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming
and metalling portion of the Denbigh Road from the Moun-
tain Road westwards, and of completing the draining, form-
ing, and culverting of the upper portion of the road from
the Derby Road; to give access to the sections in the New
Block; to set aside the Land Fund money accruing from
Sections 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, Block XVI., Egmont
Survey District, for the purpose of paying part interest on
proposed loan; to pay out of such loan the cost of raising it;
to strike as security on this loan a special rate of 2d. in the
pound over the following lands—viz., Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and that
part of Section 23 between the Rum-keg Stream and the
Denbigh Road (about 11 acres), Manganui Survey District,
and Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32,
Block XVI., Egmont Survey District:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 30, representing 30
votes: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 18; no
votes were recorded against the proposal.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Result of Poll, Proposed Loan No. 51, Makuri District.
The following is the result of a poll taken on the 24th
October, 1896, on a proposal to borrow £175 under
“The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to
form and metal that portion of Reservoir Road from its
intersection with Aohango Road to road-peg IX., fronting
Suburban Section 149; and also to form and metal the
whole of Hill Street, to give access to Sections 19 and 20,
Block XIV., Makuri:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 6, representing 6 votes:
Votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 4; votes not
recorded, 2.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Result of poll for loan of £150 for the special rating district
known as Korito Road Special Rating District, in the Wai-
wakaiho Road District:—
I hereby give public notice that the poll taken on the 21st
day of October, 1896, on the proposal to borrow £150 under
“The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for
metalling and culverting, and metalling the approaches to
such culvert or culverts, on the Korito Road, the metalling
to commence at the junction of the Korito Road with the
Kent Road, proceeding inland, was as follows:—
Ratepayers on special roll, 15; votes exercisable on special
roll, 15: Number who voted for the proposal, 8; number
who voted against the proposal, 0.
