ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of October, 1896.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the tenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but only with respect to the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Levin Public Domain Board, namely,—

JOHN KEBBELL,
JAMES PROUSE,
PETER BARTHOLOMEW,
JOHN WRIGHT GOWER,
PETER STEWART,

CHARLES KENDEL WILSON
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Thursday in each month, at eight o’clock p.m., at Levin, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Thursday, the nineteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third Thursday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 41 acres 1 rood 3 perches, more or less, being Rural Section No. 21, Block I., Waiopehu Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by the Horowhenua Road West; on the south-east by Section No. 22; on the south-west by Section No. 22; and on the north-west by Subdivision No. 11, Horowhenua Block.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 11 acres, more or less, being Suburban Section No. 24, Township of Levin. Bounded on the north-east by Horowhenua Road West; on the south-east by Salisbury Street; on the south-west by Bath Street; and on the north-west by Weraroa Road.

Vesting a Reserve in the Wallace County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of October, 1896.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was permanently set apart as a reserve for gravel, and other public purposes, on the tenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Wallace County Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of Wallace County,” in trust, for a gravel-pit, and subject to the right of the public to take gravel therefrom.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 84 acres 2 roods 1 perch, more or less, being part of Section No. 156, Oreti Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 155; towards the east by a public road, 2200 links; towards the south, again towards the east, and again towards the north by right lines bounding a school-site, 1243 links, 700 links, and 1243 links respectively; again towards the east by a public road, 2354·7 links; again towards the south by a line at a right angle to the said road, being the northern boundary-line of a sheep-dip site, 447 links; thence again towards the east by a right line at a right angle to the last-mentioned line, being the western boundary-line of the said sheep-dip site, to a public road; again towards the south by a public road; and towards the west by Section No. 157: as the above-described area is delineated on a plan marked S.G. 23603, deposited in the Head Office of the Lands and Survey Department, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the First Schedule hereto was reserved for a recreation-ground on the ninth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the said land for that mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and the third section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve described in the First Schedule hereto shall be exchanged for the land mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto.
