THE following special orders, made by the Ekatahuna Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.
SPECIAL order made on 5th September, and confirmed on 10th October, 1896:—
“That, for the purpose of securing payment of the sum of £80, borrowed by the Board under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of metalling on the Central Road, Parkville West, a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value for the time being of the following properties: Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 20, and 24 of Block X., Tararua Survey District. Such rate shall be an annually-recurring rate, and shall be paid in two half-yearly payments on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each year until the debt is liquidated.”
I certify that the above special order has been duly made.

EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.
SPECIAL order made on 5th September, confirmed on 10th October, 1896:—
“That, for the purpose of securing payment of the sum of £200, borrowed by the Board under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of formation on the Mangaoronga Road, a special rate of 2½d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value for the time being of the following properties: Section 75 of Blocks XI., XIV., and XV.; Section 76 of Blocks X., XI., and XIV.; and an education reserve, not numbered, joining the said Section 76 hereinbefore mentioned, and containing 250 acres; all in the Survey District of Mangaone. Such rate shall be an annually-recurring rate, and shall be paid in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each year, until the debt is liquidated.”

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Masterton Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

MASTERTON ROAD DISTRICT.
RESULT of a poll taken on the 10th day of October, 1896, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £300 for extending the formation of the Mikimiki Road:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 6, representing 6 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal, 4, representing 4 votes; number of votes unrecorded, 2.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I declare the said proposal to be carried.

RESULT of a poll taken on the 14th day of October, 1896, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £110 for forming and metalling the road-frontage to Subsections 12 and 21 of the Te Oreore Estate:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 7, representing 7 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal, 5, representing 5 votes; number of votes unrecorded, 2.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I declare the said proposal to be carried.
