Southbridge Railway-line; thence generally towards the
south-east and again towards the north-east by the Ellesmere
Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the ocean at
the mouth of the Rakaia River; thence again towards the
south-east by the ocean to a point in line with the north-
eastern side of the road which forms the north-eastern
boundary of Section No. 27247 (Chertsey Boundary Road);
thence towards the south-west by a right line to that road;
thence by that road and its continuation northerly, passing
the following sections—viz.: Sections Nos. 27248 and
26910, Block I., South Rakaia Survey District, Section No.
26909, Block VIII., Rakaia Survey District, Sections Nos.
26495, 26494, 26635, 25840, and 25770, Block XII., Ashburton
Survey District, Sections Nos. 25646, 26534, 24981, and
Reserve No. 1771, Block VIII., Ashburton Survey District;
thence by a line being the continuation of the north-eastern
boundary-line of that reserve across the Railway Reserve to
the Great South Road; thence again towards the south-east
by that road to Section No. 27031, Block VI., Ashburton
Survey District; thence again towards the south-west by the
road which forms the north-eastern boundary of the last-men-
tioned section and its continuation northerly to the road which
forms the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 27392, Block
II., Ashburton Survey District; thence towards the north-west
by the north-west side of the last-mentioned road to the
north-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 27392;
thence again towards the south-west by that section and
Sections Nos. 27969, 27970, 27985, 28020, 31252, 30505,
30504, and 30506, Block I., Ashburton Survey District, and
Sections Nos. 30509, Block VII., Corwar Survey District,
and 34170, 30966, and 34169, Block XVI., Spaxton Survey
District, to Lyndhurst Road; thence again towards the
south-east by Lyndhurst Road to Thompson’s Road;
thence by Sections Nos. 25462 and 26862, Block XV.,
Spaxton Survey District, and Sections Nos. 25538, 20654,
19708, 15441, 34166, and 34165, Block III., Westerfield
Survey District, and the north-western boundary-line of the
last-mentioned section produced to the north branch of the
Ashburton River; thence again towards the south-west by
the north branch of the Ashburton River to Boundary Creek,
and thence by Boundary Creek to the source of the said creek
near Mount Taylor; thence by a right line to the said Mount
Taylor; and thence by Runs Nos. 115 and 117 to the mouth of
Lake Stream, in the Rakaia River; thence by that river to its
source; and thence by a line due west to the Southern Alps
at the Westland Electoral District, hereinbefore described;
and thence again towards the north-west by the Westland
Electoral District aforesaid to the Hurunui Saddle, the
place of commencement.

ASHBURTON.

This district is bounded towards the north-east generally
by the Selwyn Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from
the Southern Alps to the ocean at Chertsey Boundary Road;
thence towards the south-east by the ocean to the mouth of
the Rangitata River; thence towards the south-west by the
Rangitata River to its confluence with Forest Creek; thence
again towards the south-east by Forest Creek to Run No. 77;
thence again towards the west generally by that run to The
Thumbs; thence by the summit of the watershed over Alma
Peak to the Southern Alps; and thence again towards the
north-west by the Westland Electoral District, hereinbefore
described, to the Selwyn Electoral District aforesaid.

GERALDINE.

This district is bounded towards the north and north-east
generally by the Ashburton Electoral District, hereinbefore
described, from the eastern boundary of Run No. 77, near
Two-thumb Range, to the ocean at the mouth of the
Rangitata River; thence towards the south-east by the
ocean to the mouth of the Opihi River; thence towards
the south by the right bank of the Opihi River to the north-
western boundary-line of Section No. 21122, Block IV.,
Pareora Survey District; thence again towards the south-
east generally by that section and Section No. 10454,
Block IV., and Sections Nos. 12448, 16677, and 17800,
Block VIII., Pareora Survey District, to the Albury Rail-
way-line; thence by that railway-line to the road forming
the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 15245, Block
VIII., Pareora Survey District; thence by that road and
its continuation, passing Sections Nos. 12242, 13744, 12875,
13516, 15830, 15877, 17304, and 19165, Block VIII., Pareora
Survey District, to the road at the south-eastern boundary
of Section No. 17311; thence by the road which forms
the south-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections Nos. 17311,
19165, 19454, 19427, 19222, 18561, and 23283, by the
road which intersects Rural Section No. 18558, and by
that road continued in a south-westerly direction through
Rural Sections Nos. 18559, 19552, and 19553, and passing
Rural Sections Nos. 25600, 21782, 29557, 33834, 21781, and
27940, to Sutherland’s Road; thence towards the west by
Sutherland’s Road and the north-eastern side of that road
produced across the Mackenzie Road to its northern side;
thence again towards the south-east by that road to the road
forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 35037 of the
said Block VI., and thence again towards the south-west by
the last-mentioned road to the Tengawai River; thence
again towards the south-east by that river to a point in line
with the western boundary-line of Section No. 5209, Block
V., Pareora Survey District; thence again towards the
north-east by a right line to that section, and by the said
Section No. 5209, and by Sections Nos. 21990, 26284, 33833,
and 2440 to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned
section; thence by the north side of the road intersecting
Section No. 16285, and by Sections Nos. 21213, 24741, 28531,
19891, and 24743, Block IX., to the southernmost corner
of the last-mentioned section; thence by the east side of
the road running southerly to and intersecting Sections
Nos. 21088 and 16279, and by Sections Nos. 21087, 24178,
24179, 33827, 24745, and 30445, Block XIII., of Pareora
Survey District, to the Pareora River; thence towards
the south generally by the said Pareora River and its
main branch flowing from Mount Nimrod; thence towards
the west generally by the summit of the eastern watershed
of the Hakateramea River over Trig. Stations L, Block XIII.,
Opuna Survey District, and O, Mackenzie Survey District,
to the head-waters of the Hakateramea River; thence by
the summit of Dalgetty Range over Trig. Station B, Burke
Survey District, to Mackenzie Pass; thence again towards
the north by the Mackenzie Stream to Section No. 36463;
thence by that section and Section No. 32070 to Run No. 23;
thence by the said Run No. 23, Tengawai Survey District, to
the road at the northern boundary-line of Section No. 31248,
Block X., Tengawai Survey District; thence by that road
and its continuation easterly to Section No. 18306; thence
by the road which forms the northern and eastern boundaries
of that section and its continuation to the south-western
boundary-line of Section No. 20518; thence by part of that
boundary-line to the south-eastern boundary-line of that
section; thence towards the west by the said Section
No. 20518, Block XI., Tengawai Survey District, to the
Opihi River; thence again towards the south-west by the
left bank of that river to Section No. 30438, Block III.,
Tengawai Survey District; thence again towards the north-
west by the said Section No. 30438 and Sections Nos. 30437,
30454, 19949, 20209, and 25368 to the South Opuha River;
thence again towards the south-west by the South Opuha
River to its source in Two-thumb Range; thence again
towards the north-west by the summit of Two-thumb Range
to the source of Forest Creek; again towards the north
generally by the said Forest Creek to the Ashburton Electoral
District aforesaid.

TIMARU.

This district is bounded towards the south-west, towards
the north-west, and towards the north generally by the
Geraldine Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the
western boundary-line of Section No. 30445, Block XIII.,
Pareora Survey District, at the Pareora River to the mouth
of the Opihi River; thence towards the south-east by the
ocean to the mouth of the Pareora River; and thence
towards the south-west by the Pareora River to the western
boundary of Section No. 30445 aforesaid at the Geraldine
Electoral District aforesaid.

WAITAKI.

This district is bounded towards the north-east generally
by the Ashburton, the Geraldine, and the Timaru Electoral
Districts respectively, hereinbefore described, from the
Southern Alps to the ocean at the mouth of the Pareora
River; thence towards the east by the ocean to the right
bank of the Waitaki River; thence towards the south by
the said right bank of the Waitaki River to a point in
line with the western boundary-line of Section No. 92,
Block I., Awamoko Survey District; thence towards the
east by a right line to the north-western corner of the said
Section No. 92, and thence by that section and Sections
Nos. 1, 31, 32, 73, 72, 74, and 75 of the said Block I., and by
Sections Nos. 1, 39, 40, and 50, Block IV., Awamoko Survey
District; thence again towards the south generally by the
road intersecting Sections Nos. 22 and 21 to Section No. 28,
and its continuation, passing Sections Nos. 28 and 20,
Block V., Awamoko Survey District, intersecting Sections
Nos. 13 and 1, passing Section No. 15, and intersecting
Sections Nos. 6 and 4 of the said Block V., to a road running
westerly through the last-mentioned section; thence by the
last-mentioned road to the western boundary-line of the said
Section No. 4; thence by that section and by the south side
of the road which forms the northern boundaries of Sections
Nos. 47, 46, 45, 49, 44, 43, 42, and 41, Block VI., Awamoko
Survey District, to the north-western corner of the last-
mentioned section; thence again towards the east by the
said Section No. 41; thence by Blocks VII. and X. respectively, Awamoko Survey District, and Block III., Kauroo
Survey District, to the south-western corner of Section
