COUNTY OF RANGITIKEI.
Otairi Road Special Rating District.
The following is the result of a poll held on Saturday, 15th August, 1896, on a proposal of the Rangitikei County Council to raise a loan of £800, under the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," for the purpose of acquiring, fencing, forming, and bridging the Otairi Road; and to levy a special rate on the value of the several properties within the above special rating district:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 5; number of votes exercisable, 12; Number of ratepayers who voted for the pro-posal, 3; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 8; number of votes recorded against the proposal, nil.
A majority of the ratepayers, exercising more than one-half of the total number of votes exercisable, being in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare it to be carried.

Number of voters on roll, 5; number of votes exercisable, 5: Number of voters for proposal, 3; number of votes for proposal, 3; number of voters against proposal, 2; number of votes against proposal, 2.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Result of poll of ratepayers of the Tariki Road Special Rating District, taken 12th August, 1896, upon the following proposal:—(1.) To form the Tariki Road from the Ratapiko School eastwards. (2.) To borrow for such purpose the sum of £150 under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886." (3.) To strike as security for such loan a special rate of 1½d. in the pound. (4.) To constitute the Tariki Road Special Rating District, to comprise the following lands —viz., Sections 20, 21, 22, 43, 44, 45, and 46, Block 6, Huiroa Survey District:—
Total number of ratepayers on special roll, 6; total number of votes exercisable, 6: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 4; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, nil; number of ratepayers who did not vote, 2.
I hereby declare the proposal carried.

To constitute the Lepper Road South Special Rating District, to comprise the following lands—viz., Sections 121, 122, 123, 125, 126, 127 (in five subdivisions), 138, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, Tarurutangi S.D.; 7, 8 (in two subdivisions), 9 (in two subdivisions), 10 (in two subdivisions), 11, 12, 13, Block VII., Egmont Survey District:—
Total number of ratepayers on special roll, 22; total number of votes exercisable, 22: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 16; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, 1; number of ratepayers who did not vote, 5.
