Thames comprises the whole of Coromandel County; the Waiotahi Riding of Thames County; and that portion of the Hastings Riding of the same county lying within the boundaries of the existing Thames Electoral District. This district includes also the Borough of Thames, and the Islands of Cuvier and Mercury.
Ohinemuri comprises the whole of Ohinemuri County; the Ridings of Kauaeranga and Parawari of Thames County; also Totara Riding of Thames County, excepting that portion lying to the north-west of Waitakaruru River and adjoining Waikato County; together with that portion of Hastings Riding of Thames County lying within the existing Bay of Plenty Electoral District; the Te Aroha Town District, and a piece of the Te Aroha Riding of Piako County extending southwards about five miles from Te Aroha Mountain. Slipper Island is included in this district.
Bay of Plenty comprises the Counties of Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane, and East Taupo; and the whole of Piako County less that portion of Te Aroha Riding absorbed by Ohinemuri Electoral District hereinbefore described; together with that portion of Cambridge Riding of Waikato County lying within Hautapu Parish; that portion of Pukekura Riding of Waipa County to the eastward of a line running south-westerly from a point on the Waikato River about midway between the Narrows Bridge and the Borough of Cambridge; and that part of West Taupo County situated to the eastward of the Puniu and Okahukura Rivers. This district includes also the Boroughs of Tauranga and Cambridge, and Motiti Island.
Waikato comprises the whole of the County of Raglan; the Borough of Hamilton; the Road Districts of Paparata, Pokeno, and Mercer, of Manukau County, and the outlying district of Maungatawhiri Riding of Manukau County lying between Wharekawa Range and the Firth of Thames; and that portion of Cambridge Riding of Waikato County situated west of Hautapu Parish; together with that portion of Pukekura Riding of Waipa County lying to the west of Pukekura Parish; that portion of West Taupo County situated west of the Puniu and Okahukura Rivers; that portion of Kawhia County situated east of a line along the summit of the range leading from Tirua Point, on the west coast, to Maungamangero Mountain, and thence down the Mangaotaki River to the Mokau; and that portion of Clifton County situated east of a line starting from Taumarunui, near the Wanganui River, and continuing north-westerly in a straight line through the Ohura South Block to the confluence of the Hapurua and Waitohena Rivers, thence northerly up the latter river to its source, thence along the summit of the watershed to the Hauturu Range, thence along that range to the Mokau-iti River, and down that river to the Mokau River.
Waiapu comprises the whole of the Counties of Waiapu and Cook; together with the Ridings of Clyde and Waikaremoana of Wairoa County, and that portion of Mohaka Riding of Wairoa County to the northward of the Mohaka River. This district includes also the Borough of Gisborne and Portland Island.
Hawke’s Bay comprises the Ridings of Patangata and Oero of Patangata County; the Ridings of Havelock, Clive, Heretaunga, Maraekakaho, Okawa, and Puketapu of Hawke’s Bay County; and the North Ruataniwha Road District of Waipawa County; together with the following local divisions, viz.: That portion of Mohaka Riding of Wairoa County south of the Mohaka River; the whole of Petane Riding of Hawke’s Bay County excepting the locality known as the Western Spit; the portion of Papakura Road District of Hawke’s Bay County lying within the existing Hawke’s Bay Electoral District; and that portion of Erehwon Riding of Hawke’s Bay County within the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay and east of the Taruarau River. This district includes also the Borough of Hastings and Kaikora Town District.
Napier comprises the whole of the area included within the existing Electoral District of Napier, together with the locality in Petane Riding of Hawke’s Bay County generally known as the Western Spit.
Waipawa comprises the whole of the Ridings of Ormondville, Norsewood, Waipukurau, and Ruataniwha, of Waipawa County; the Eparaima and Taumumu Ridings of Patangata County; the Waipawa Road District of Waipawa County; together with that portion of Porongahau Road District of Patangata County lying on the north side of a line commencing on the east coast at Arataura, about four miles north of Cape Turnagain, and proceeding westerly along the southern boundaries of the Arataura, Porongahau, and Mangamaire Blocks to and along the northern boundary of Weber Road District; also that portion of Dannevirke Riding of Waipawa County north of a line running along the Dannevirke-Weber Road from Patangata County boundary to the Mangatoro Stream, thence along that stream to the Manawatu River, thence down the Manawatu River to the Oruakapetahi Stream, and thence up that stream to the main road to Woodville; and that portion of Maharahara Road District of Waipawa County situated north of a line commencing at the main road to Woodville and proceeding north-westerly along the road which branches off westerly through Oringi-Waiaruhe Block, and thence along that road and along the continuation of that road, passing Sections 13, 14, 15, Block III., Woodville District, Sections 1 to 6, Block II., and Sections 3 and 4, Block XV., Woodville District, and thence to and along the southern boundaries of the Maharahara Copper-mining Leases. This district includes the Borough of Dannevirke and the Town Districts of Waipawa and Ormondville.
Pahiatua comprises the whole of Pahiatua County; the small strip off the lower portion of the Maharahara Road District of Waipawa County not included in the Waipawa Electoral District hereinbefore described; and that portion of the Dannevirke Riding of Waipawa County lying southward of a line commencing where the Oruakapetahi Stream crosses the Woodville Road, and proceeding down that stream to the Manawatu River, thence up that river to the Mangatoro Stream; thence up the Mangatoro Stream to the Dannevirke-Weber Road, and along that road to the Patangata County boundary; together with the Weber Road District of Patangata County; that part of Porongahau Road District situated southward of a line commencing at the north-east corner of Weber Road District, and extending easterly along the southern boundaries of the Mangamaire, Porongahau, and Arataura Blocks to the east coast at Arataura, about four miles north of Cape Turnagain; the whole of the Akitéo Riding of Wairarapa North County; and a piece of country at the northernmost corner of the Castlepoint Riding of Wairarapa North County lying north of the road running past Burling’s Homestead. This district includes also the Boroughs of Pahiatua and Woodville.
Masterton comprises the whole of the Ridings of Eketahuna and Alfredton of Wairarapa North County; and the whole of Castlepoint Riding excepting the northernmost portion, lying north of the road running past Burling’s Homestead; also that portion of Masterton Riding within the boundaries of the existing Masterton Electoral District. The Borough of Masterton is included within this district. The whole of the southern boundary of this district is identical with the southern boundary of the existing Electoral District of Masterton.
Wairarapa has the same boundaries as the existing Wairarapa Electoral District.
Egmont comprises the south-western part of Kawhia County to the west of the Mangaotaki River and south of the summit of the range leading from Maungamangero Mountain to the sea-coast at Tirua Point; also the south-western portion of Clifton County, which is bounded on the north by a line starting from Taumarunui near the Wanganui River, and continuing north-westerly in a straight line through the Ohura South Block to the confluence of the Hapurua and Waitohena Rivers; thence northerly along the latter river to its source; thence along the summit of the watershed to the Hauturu Range; thence along that range to the Mokau-iti River, and down that river to the Mokau River; together with the whole of Stratford County, excepting the portions south of Climie Road and Sole Road, and between Wingrove Road and the Patea River; that portion of Moa Riding of Taranaki County situated east of the Waiwakaiho River; and a very small portion of Waitara Riding of Taranaki County lying between Clarke Road and the Manganui River. The Town Districts of Inglewood and Stratford are in this electorate.
Taranaki comprises the whole of the Omata and Parihaka Ridings of Taranaki County, and the whole of Waitara Riding of Taranaki County with the exception of the small area lying between Clarke Road and the Manganui River; also the portion of Moa Riding of Taranaki County situated west of the Waiwakaiho River; and the Borough of New Plymouth. Waitara Town District and Opunake Town District are in this electorate.
Hawera comprises the whole of the Ridings of Waimate and Hawera of Hawera County; together with those portions of South Riding of Stratford County situated south of Climie Road and Sole Road and between Wingrove Road and the Patea River; and that part of Eltham Riding which lies west of a line commencing at Austin Road and proceeding northerly along the Mountain Road to Mangawhero Road, thence easterly along that road to Campbell Road, and along that road and the eastern boundaries of the Ngaiere and Pukengahu Blocks to Stratford County boundary. This district includes also the Borough of Hawera, and the Manaia and Normanby Town Districts.
