Wanganui comprises the whole of the Westmere and Brunswick Ridings of Waitotara County; and that part of Waitotara Riding of the same county to the eastward of a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of the Pakaraka Native Reserve, and proceeding south-westerly along the eastern boundary of that reserve and a line in continuation thereof to the sea, about two miles north of the Okehu Stream; also the whole of Kaitoke and Mateongaonga Ridings of Wanganui County; and those portions of the Mangawhero, Kaukatea, and Purua Ridings of Wanganui County lying westward of a line starting at the north-eastern boundary of the Upokongaro Block, and proceeding generally southerly along that boundary and along the northern and eastern boundaries of the Matatara Block to the Makirikiri Stream, thence along that stream and along the eastern boundary of Section 347, the eastern boundary of the Mateongaonga Riding, and the eastern boundaries of Sections 369, 204, 201, 209, and 270, Ikitara Survey District. The Borough of Wanganui is included in this electorate.

Patea comprises the whole of Patea County; the Ridings of Paraekaretu, Maungaraupi, Wangaehu, Maungahoe, and Otairi, of Rangitikei County; and the upper portion of Porewa Riding of Rangitikei County, lying north of the road which intersects the Education Reserve (Section CXCIV.) near the Waimutu Stream, and runs south-easterly to the Tutaenui Stream at Section XXXVIII.; also that part of Ohingaiti Riding south of the northern boundary-line of the Pukiore No. 1 Block, the Upper Wangaehu Riding of Wanganui County; and the eastern portions of Mangawhero, Kaukatea and Purua Ridings of Wanganui County to the eastward of a line commencing at the north-eastern boundary of the Upokongaro Block on the Wanganui River, and proceeding generally southerly along that boundary and along the north and east boundaries of Matatara Block to the Makirikiri Stream, thence along that stream and the eastern boundary of Section 347, and along the north-eastern boundary of Mateongaonga Riding and the eastern boundaries of Sections 369, 204, 201, 209, and 270, Ikitara Survey District; together with the Tokomaru Riding of Waitotara County; that part of Waitotara Riding of the same county lying west of a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Pakaraka Native Reserve, and proceeding south-westerly along that boundary and its prolongation to the sea about two miles north of Okehu Stream; the Mokoia Riding of Hawera County, and that portion of Eltham Riding of Hawera County to the eastward of the Mountain Road, to the southward of the Mangawhero Road, east of Anderson Road, and eastward of Te Ngai re and Pukengahu Blocks. This district includes also the Borough of Patea and the Town District of Waverley.

Rangitikei comprises the whole of Pohangina and Kiwitea Counties; the Waituna Riding of Oroua County; and that part of Subdivision No. 5 of the Manchester Road District of the same county situated north of the road fronting Sections 32 to 46 and north of the road fronting Sections 47 and 70, and north of a line being the north-eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to Subdivision 6 of the Manchester Road District; together with that part of Ohingaiti Riding of Rangitikei County north of the Pukiore No. 1 Block; and the portion of the Erehwon Riding of Hawke’s Bay County lying on the Wellington side of the provincial district boundary. Feilding Borough and Halcombe Town District are in this electorate.

Palmerston comprises the whole of the Fitzherbert and Taonui Ridings of Oroua County; together with Subdivision No. 6 of the Manchester Road District of Oroua County, and Subdivision No. 5 of the same road district less the large portion absorbed by the Rangitikei Electorate hereinbefore described. This district also includes the Borough of Palmerston.

Manawatu is comprised in the following local divisions: viz., the whole of Manawatu County; the Ridings of Rangitoto and Otakapu of Rangitikei County; the greater portion of Porewa Riding of Rangitikei County lying southward of the road-line running westerly from the Tutaenui Stream to and through Section CXCIV. (Education Reserve), near the Waimutu Stream; the Tokomaru Riding of Horowhenua County; and the lower portion of Wirokino Riding of Horowhenua County, northward of a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of the Horowhenua Block, and proceeding westerly to the Wellington-Manawatu Railway-line, thence southerly along the railway-line to the road at the State Farm, and thence along the road leading past Raumatangi to the beach near the mouth of the Horowhenua River. This district includes also the Boroughs of Marton and Foxton and the Town Districts of Bull’s and Lethbridge.

Otaki comprises the whole of Hutt County, excepting the Makara Riding, and excepting also that portion of Porirua Riding lying southward of a line commencing at the north-western corner of the Borough of Petone, and proceeding westerly to the Johnsonville-Horokiwi Road, thence southerly along that road to the Town District of Johnsonville, thence along the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of that town district and along the road fronting Sections 90 and 89, and intersecting Sections 13 and 14; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, and 24 to a track leading through Sections 28, 60, and 58, thence along that track, and the northern boundary of Section 59, and along the southern boundaries of Sections 56, 55, and 126, to the sea-coast about four miles and a half north of Ohariu River; together with the Ridings of Te Horo and Otaki of Horowhenua County; and that portion of Wirokino Riding of Horowhenua County lying south of a line commencing near the mouth of the Horowhenua River on the west coast, and proceeding easterly along the road or track leading to the State Farm, via Raumatangi, thence along the northern boundary of the State Farm to the railway-line, thence northerly along the railway-line to the northern boundary of the Horowhenua Block, and thence easterly along the northern boundary of that block. This district includes also the portion of the Borough of Lower Hutt situated eastward of a line commencing at Petone Borough boundary and proceeding along the western boundary of Alicetown to the Hutt River, and thence to and along Bridge Street to the railway-line near the Belmont Road, and thence to and along that road to the Borough boundary. Johnsonville Town District and Kapiti Island are in this district.

Suburbs of Wellington comprises the Boroughs of Petone, Karori, and Onslow; the portion of the Borough of Lower Hutt situated west of Alicetown, Bridge Street, and the Belmont Road; and the whole of the Borough of Melrose excepting that portion extending from the northern boundary of Kilbirnie Township to Point Jerningham; together with the southern portion of the City of Wellington, extending southwards from a line drawn along Constable Street to Riddiford Street, thence along Riddiford Street to Rintoul Street near the Newtown School, thence along Rintoul Street to Stokes Street, thence along that street for a distance of about 10 chains, and thence along the northern boundary of Section No. 30 to the city boundary; also the Road Districts of Makara and Seaton; and that portion of Porirua Riding situated south-west of a line commencing on the sea coast about four miles and a half north of Ohariu River, and following the southern boundaries of Sections 126, 55, 56, and 57, and the track intersecting Sections 58, 60, and 28; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 24, 23, 21, 20, 18, and 17; and thence southerly passing the road intersecting Sections 14 and 13, and on to Johnsonville; thence along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Johnsonville, and along the Johnsonville Road towards Petone to a point nearly due west of the north-western corner of the Borough of Petone; and thence along the northern boundary-lines of Sections 7 and 78, Block VIII., Belmont Survey District, to the Borough of Petone. This district includes also Somes Island.

City of Wellington comprises the City of Wellington, excepting the southern portion, which may be described generally as being situated south of Constable Street and Stokes Street and the Newtown School; together with that portion of Melrose Borough lying between the northern boundary of Kilbirnie Township and Point Jerningham.
