EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.—RESULT OF POLL.
THE following is the result of a poll taken at the Road Board Office, Eketahuna, on the 24th December, 1895, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £1,000 for formation and metalling on the Mangatainoka Valley Road, Kaiparoro Block:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 14; number of pollable votes, 14: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 9, exercising 9 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, 0; number of ratepayers who did not exercise their votes, 5, being entitled to exercise 5 votes.
As the number of ratepayers who voted and the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal are in each case a majority of the total number on the roll, I therefore declare the proposal carried.

MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.
RESULT of a poll taken on the 24th day of December, 1895, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £500 to form and metal Mangatainoka Valley Road from the boundary-line between the Mauriceville and Eketahuna Road Districts to Section 10, Block IX., Tararua:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 6, representing 6 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 4, exercising 4 votes; unrecorded votes, 2.
As a majority of ratepayers recorded a majority of votes in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the same to be carried.

BOROUGH OF DANNEVIRKE.
THE following is the result of the poll taken on 23rd December, 1895, on a proposal to borrow £7,500 for water-supply:—
Number of burgesses on the roll, 262, representing 323 votes: For the proposal, 132 burgesses, 181 votes; against the proposal, 14 burgesses, 16 votes; informal, 2 burgesses, 2 votes.
I hereby declare the proposal carried.

I, Campbell Thomson, of Dannevirke, Town Clerk, solemnly and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” in the matter of obtaining the sanction of the burgesses to a proposal for a special loan have been duly taken with reference to the special loan for £7,500 for which a poll of the burgesses of the Borough of Dannevirke was taken on 23rd December, 1895. And I make this declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

COUNTY OF RANGITIKEI.
THE following is the result of a poll taken on Saturday, 14th December, 1895, on a proposal of the Rangitikei County Council to raise the sum of £225 by way of loan under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the formation, metalling, and bridging of Coleman’s Road, and to levy a special rate on the value of all rateable property situate within the Coleman’s Road Special Rating District:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 4, exercising 7 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 4; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 7.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Notice of the Laying-off of Roads over Lands in the Wellington Land District.
NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,” that the roads described in the Schedule hereto were duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by a warrant dated 17th March, 1892.

THE following extract from “The Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1895,” is published for the information of all concerned; and notice is hereby given that any appeal under the provisions of section 12 of the said Act must be lodged with the Registrar of the Native Land Court at Wellington within three months from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette and Kahiti.

“THE NATIVE LAND CLAIMS ADJUSTMENT ACT, 1895.”
- In order to carry out the recommendation of the Native Affairs Committee upon the petition of Te Wunu te Ahuru and others, complaining of the decision of the Court sitting at Turakina in the month of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, whereby, as is alleged, persons entitled neither according to Native custom and usage nor in equity were admitted to ownership in the Ruatangata Block, in consequence of the terms of the Crown grant, whereby the said land was granted to Aperahama Tipae in trust as therein mentioned, the following provisions shall apply:—
(1.) The Appellate Court is hereby empowered and directed upon the application of any person aggrieved by such decision, setting forth in such application the grounds of objection thereto, to treat such application as a valid appeal from the said decision within the meaning of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and to deal with the same accordingly :
