from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas, pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,”
by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land
described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought
under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of
the said “Public Domains Act, 1881”:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony of New Zealand, doth by this present Order
delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above men-
tioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five
and twelve, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be
known as the Newman Domain Board, namely,—
SAMUEL DAWSON,
JAMES COOPER, and
FREDERICK DOWSETT
(hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
the third Thursday in each month, at half-past seven o'clock
p.m., at Newman, or at such other time or place as may
from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting
shall be held on Thursday, the twenty-first day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five. -
Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting. -
No meeting shall be held if any member of the Board
be absent. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to
time. -
The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third
Thursday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original vote. The Chairman
shall hold office until the election of his successor. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
by the owner of the land described in the Schedule
hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of
such land contained in the Land Transfer certificate bearing
date the first day of December, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-seven, and now contained in Land Transfer certi-
ficate bearing date the thirtieth day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five (Vol. lxxix., folio 80), may be
removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the
Native Land Court, and the said Court has recommended
that such restrictions be removed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers conferred on him by the fifty-second section of
“The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and in accordance
with the recommendation of the Native Land Court, doth
hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by
the said Land Transfer certificate on the alienation of the
said land are hereby removed.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land, containing 2 roods 26·7 perches,
situate in the City of Wellington, being the Native Land
Court Subdivision 12a of Section 12, Polhill Gully Native
Reserve, held under Land Transfer certificate dated 30th
July, 1895, in favour of Ani Waaka Bluett, and containing
the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale or mortgage,
or by lease beyond twenty-one years.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Canterbury.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
was heretofore duly reserved for Government pur-
poses, and is a reserve in Class II. of “The Public Reserves
Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any
society, body corporate, or trustees: And whereas, in the
opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that such reserve
shall be appropriated for the purposes of public recreation:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the second section of “The
Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this
notification hereby declare that the said reserve shall, from
and after the day of the date of the publication hereof in the
New Zealand Gazette, be appropriated for the purposes of
recreation under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act,
1881.”
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 1 rood 18 perches, more or
less, being part of Reserve No. 102, situate in the Suburbs
of Timaru. Bounded towards the north by the recreation
ground gazetted 1st October, 1885, a distance of 398·3 links;
towards the east by a road along the beach, 122·7 links;
towards the south by Reserve No. 102, 326 links; and
towards the west by the aforesaid recreation-ground,
100·8 links.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirtieth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five.

purposes, and is a reserve in Class I. of “The Public Re-
serves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust
in any society, body corporate, or trustees: And whereas,
in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that such
reserve shall be appropriated to the purpose of a site for
a public school:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public
Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification
hereby declare that the said reserve shall, from and after the
day of the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette, be appropriated for the purposes of a public-school
site under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881.”
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 9 acres, more or less, situate
in Block IV., Opihi Survey District, and being Reserve No.
3063 (in red), and formerly part of Reserve No. 2700.
Bounded towards the north-west generally by Reserve No.
2956, and Rural Section No. 33122, distances respectively of
250, 400, and 453 links; towards the north-east by the Hae-hae-
te-Moana River; towards the south-east by Reserve No.
2700, 750 links; and towards the south-west by a road-line,
1044 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.

this thirtieth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the nineteenth section of “The
Mining Act, 1891,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the post-
office at the under-mentioned place to be a post-office at
which miners' rights and business licenses respectively may
be issued by the Postmaster in charge of such post-office,
viz.:—
TAURANGA.

this thirtieth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five.
