Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth
section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received
the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the
said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural
lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale
or selection on and after the twenty-third day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-five; and also that the
lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of
the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occu-
pation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or,
in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any
metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in
perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which
the said lands shall be sold, occupied or leased, as men-
tioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the
said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject
to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—MANGONUI COUNTY.

Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
situate in Blocks IV. and VIII., Mangonui Survey District,
and containing approximately 200 acres. Bounded towards
the north by Section No. 12 of the Parish of Taipa; towards
the east by the Taipa River; towards the south by a right
line running parallel to and at a distance of 20 chains in a
southerly direction from the northern boundary of Block
VIII., Mangonui Survey District, for a distance of 70 chains;
thence towards the north-west by a right line to the south-
western angle of Section No. 12 of the Parish of Taipa, the
point of commencement.

Description of Land: Open land of poor quality, being
part of a worked-out gumfield, situate about one mile from
Taipa Post-office.

Cash price, 5s. per acre; occupation with right of purchase,
3d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 2•4d. per acre
per annum.

Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situate
in Blocks I., II., III., and IV., Te Tumu Survey District,
and containing approximately 3,000 acres. Bounded towards
the north-east by the south-western limit of the range of
sandhills which runs along the coast of the Bay of Plenty;
towards the south-east by Section No. 1 of Block IV., Te
Tumu Survey District; towards the south-west generally by
Papamoa No. 3 Block, by Section No. 4 of Block IV. aforesaid,
by Sections 2 and 1 of Block III., and by Papamoa No. 2 and
Mangatawa Blocks; and towards the west by Papamoa No. 2
Block to the point of commencement.

Description of Land: Mostly inferior swamp land, situate
close to the coast, about ten miles from Tauranga and six
miles from Te Puke.

Cash price, 5s. per acre; occupation with right of purchase,
3d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 2•4d. per acre
per annum.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this fifteenth day of August, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-five.
