Notice is hereby given that at the poll of burgesses of the Borough of Thames, taken on Monday, 17th December, 1894, upon a proposal to borrow £2,000 on Waterworks Account, the following votes were recorded :—
For the proposal, 244; against, 22; informal, 2.
The number of votes on the roll being 607, and over one-half of that number not having been cast in favour of the proposal, I declare it to have been rejected.

THE following special order, made by the Eden Terrace Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

EDEN TERRACE ROAD BOARD.
Special order made by the Eden Terrace Road Board on the 8th day of January, 1895, in pursuance of the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," and "The Road Boards Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1888," amending the by-laws of the Eden Terrace Road Board relating to the waterworks of the Eden Terrace Road District, and hereinafter referred to as "the said by-laws " :—
The several sections of the said by-laws hereinafter mentioned shall be amended as follows :—
Section 1: The figures "12s. 6d." shall be struck out, and the figures "10s." inserted in lieu thereof.
Section 13, as amended by special order, 23rd August, 1892: The words "one shilling and threepence" shall be inserted in lieu of "one shilling and sixpence."
The foregoing amendments to take effect from and after the 1st day of April, 1895.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with the provisions of sections 75 and 76 of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," on the 8th day of January, 1895.

TIME-BALL.—SIGNAL-STATION, WICKHAM TERRACE.
On and after the 2nd January, 1895, the time-ball on top of the signal-tower, Wickham Terrace, Brisbane, will be dropped daily, except on Sundays or public holidays. The time of signal being made will be as follows :—
Greenwich mean time . . . 15 00 00
Local mean time . . . 1 12 06 40 p.m.
The ball will be hoisted half-way up at 12.55 p.m., and close up at 12.57 p.m. Ball dropped by electric signal from the standard clock at the Survey Office Observatory at 1h. 00min. 00sec., mean time of the 150th meridian of longitude east of Greenwich. If through accident the ball fail to drop, it will be gradually lowered and dropped at
