fix and determine that the entire cost of maintaining, repair-
ing, improving, or reconstructing the said bridge is to be
provided and paid by the Amuri County Council out of the
funds of the said county.

SCHEDULE.

That bridge over the Wai-au River, known as the Lower
Wai-au Bridge, situated on the main road from Culverden to
Kai-koura, as the site of the said bridge is shown upon the
plan marked S.G. 25395, deposited in the Head Office of the
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of April,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-five.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been acquired under the provisions of "The
Land for Settlements Act, 1894" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), and the purchase thereof has been concluded as
by the said Act is provided: And whereas it is enacted by
the said Act that all land so acquired shall be proclaimed as
Crown land subject to the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the power and authority conferred by the said Act, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall, on the date of the publication hereof in the
New Zealand Gazette, be and be deemed to be Crown land
subject to the provisions of "The Land for Settlements Act,
1894."

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO SETTLEMENT.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 376 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less,
situated in Blocks XII. and XVI., Otago Survey District.
Bounded towards the north by Bluecliffs Road; towards the
south-east by parts of Rural Sections Nos. 7104 and 30719;
towards the south generally by the Otago River; and towards
the west by part of Rural Section No. 7104.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,

In pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon
me by the one hundred and sixty-eighth section of
"The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the allotments of Crown land respectively
described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are
hereby set apart and declared open for lease as village settle-
ments.

Nos. 10191 and 10187; towards the south generally by Clare-
mont Road; and towards the west generally by Brockley
Road.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
