Increasing Number of Councillors, County of Geraldine.

GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by "The Levels County Act, 1894," the
entire Levels Riding of the County of Geraldine

was severed from that county and constituted a new county,
and it is therefore expedient that the number of Councillors
to represent the remaining ridings of the said County of
Geraldine should be increased so as to make up the full
number of the County Council:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers
vested in me by "The Counties Act, 1886," do hereby
increase the number of Councillors for the three remaining
ridings of the County of Geraldine by one each, and the
representation of the said ridings shall be as follows:—
Temuka Riding, three Councillors.
Raukapuka Riding, two Councillors.
Mount Peel Riding, two Councillors.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-four.

Rural Lands in the Otago Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the
report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands
enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-third day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of
the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity,
or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease
in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

This is a rough bush section, the bush consisting chiefly of kamai, ironwood, and red-pine; soil light, well watered;
fronts Cannibal Bay Road, about five miles distant from Owaka. Valuation for improvements, payable with application, or
immediately the result of the ballot is declared, £125. William Sproule was last in occupation of this land.

miles from Naseby, about three miles from the proposed railway-station at Ryan's Crossing, and about fifteen miles from
Hyde. Valuations for improvements, payable with application, or immediately the result of the ballot is declared, are as
follow: Block VIII., Section 18, £11 10s.; Block XI., Section 20, £16 5s.; Block XII., Section 3, £12 15s. 6d.; and Section
11, £5 12s.

be paid with application, or immediately the result of the ballot is declared.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-four.
