WAIMATE ROAD BOARD.
SPECIAL orders made by the Waimate Road Board at a special meeting held on the 3rd day of October, 1894:—
“ That, to secure repayment of a loan of £400 (and interest thereon), raised under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of forming and metalling the Rowan Road from the Eltham. Road to the railway reserve, a special rate of 1½d. in the pound be made and levied over the Rowan Road Special Rating Area, comprising the following sections: 93 and 95, Block X., 93, 99, and 101, Block XI., 28, Block XIV., and 35, Block XV., all in the Kaupokonui Survey District. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable on the 1st day of January in each year.
“ Also, to secure repayment of a loan of £900 (and interest thereon), raised under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of forming, culverting, and metalling the Auroa Road from the Eltham Road northward for a distance of chains, a special rate of 2½d. in the pound be made and levied over the Auroa Road Special Rating Area, comprising the following sections: 45, 46, 50, 51, 55, 56, and 57, Block X., 7, 8, 13, and 14, Block IX., 10, 11, 12, and 14, Block V., 4, 6, and 8, Block VI., all in the Kaupokonui Survey District. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable on the 1st day of January in each year.”
I hereby certify that the foregoing special orders have been duly made by the Waimate Road Board as required by “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Mangere Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Mangere Road Board, on Monday, 29th October, 1894.
THAT the proposed by-laws hereto attached be made by special order, and passed, for the regulation of the traffic over Mangere Bridge.
By-laws of the Mangere District Board.
The Mangere District Board, under and in pursuance of the powers in that behalf vested in them by a certain Proclamation of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, dated the 19th day of February, 1889, and in pursuance of any other powers which are vested in them in any manner whatsoever, do hereby make and pass for the Mangere Bridge, between the Borough of Onehunga and the Manukau County, the following by-laws, that is to say:—
- No person shall fish off or from or place or use any fishing-nets or other fishing gear thereat or thereon any portion of the said Mangere Bridge.
- No person shall ride or drive at other than a walking pace any animal upon or across the whole or any portion of the said Mangere Bridge between the hours of sunset and sunrise.
- No person shall lead or drive at other than a walking pace any cart, carriage, or other vehicle between the hours of sunset and sunrise.
- No person shall at any time meet or pass any person, animal, cart, carriage, or other vehicle at other than a walking pace.
- No person shall drive any cart, carriage, or other vehicle containing a load projecting more than 4ft. on either side from the centre of such cart, carriage, or other vehicle.
- No person shall unfasten, loosen, or remove any nail, nut, or bolt, chop or break or in any manner injure, deface, or destroy any portion of the woodwork or ironwork of the said bridge.
- No person shall wilfully and carelessly throw down or let fall any sparks or burning material so as to endanger the said bridge.
- No person shall bathe from the said bridge.
- No person shall cause to be moved or carried on or upon the said bridge a greater weight than two tons on one pair of wheels, or three and a half tons on two pairs of wheels, except by permission of the said Board.
- These by-laws shall come into operation upon their being gazetted in the New Zealand Government Gazette.
- No legal proceedings shall be instituted against any person for any breach of these by-laws, without the authority of the said Board or the Chairman thereof.
- No person shall ride any bicycle or tricycle across the said bridge at any time.
- No person shall cross the bridge with a cart, carriage, or other vehicle or machine between the hours of sunset and sunrise without having a light burning on the right or off side of such vehicle.
If any person fails or refuses or neglects to do anything required by these by-laws to be done and observed or performed, or in any manner obstructs, impedes, or interferes with the doing of anything enjoined, required, or authorised to be done, or wilfully does anything prohibited by these by-laws, every such person in any case so offending shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £10.
I certify that the above special order was made by the Mangere Road Board, after due notice, being advertised in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special orders, made by the Otaki Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

OTAKI ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.—SPECIAL DISTRICT No. 2.
THAT this Board intends, by special order, to form a special district, to be called Special District No. 2, comprising the following sections: Pukehou No. 5L, parts 3A, 4, 5, 1, 2A, 3B, 4A, and 50 acres of 5A, Blocks IX., X., Waitohu Survey District, and Block XIII., Waiopohu Survey District, said special district being formed for the purpose of raising a loan of £100, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the construction of the continuation of the Ringawhati Road, the same being within the said special district, and for the striking of a special rate to pay interest on the said loan.

THAT this Board proposes to borrow from the Colonial Treasurer, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, the sum of £100, for the construction of the continuation of the Ringawhati Road, being within the Special District No. 2: First, to make a special rate of 1½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable properties within the boundaries of the Special District No. 2 (exclusive of Crown and Native lands within the meaning of “The Crown and Native Lands Rating Act, 1882”); second, that the cost of raising the loan and the first year's interest be paid out of loan.
