THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

District; thence again towards the south-east by the
Wakanui Road District, the boundaries whereof are de-
scribed in the New Zealand Gazette of the 6th day of July,
1893, the Borough of Ashburton, the Tinwald Town District,
the Longbeach Road District, and the Coldstream Road
District; thence again towards the south-west by the
Rangitata Road District; thence again towards the north-
west by the Anama Road District; thence along the middle
of the South Branch of the River Ashburton in a north-
westerly direction to Taylor's Branch; thence along the
middle of Taylor's Branch to a point in line with the middle
of a road passing through Rural Sections Nos. 34145, 34144,
32653, 30590, and 30589, situated about 5 chains to the
north-west of a closed road before mentioned; thence to and
along the middle of the said road to the starting-point.

Subdivision No. 3 (Forks).

All that portion of the Upper Ashburton Road District,
hereinbefore described, commencing at a point in the middle
of the North Branch of the River Ashburton in line with the
middle of a road passing through Rural Section No. 30589,
situated about 5 chains to the north-west of a closed road;
thence south-easterly along the middle of the said branch to
the south-east boundary of the Mount Hutt Road District;
thence again on the north-east and east generally by No. 4
(Winchmore) Subdivision, No. 6 (Dromore) Subdivision, No. 5
(Allenton) Subdivision, and the Town of Ashburton; on the
south, crossing the river, by the southern boundary of the
Upper Ashburton Road District; on the south-west by No. 1
(Lagmhor) Subdivision, and No. 2 (Westerfield) Subdivision
(i.e., following the south-west bank of the South Branch of the
River Ashburton) to the south-east boundary of Rural
Section No. 35991; thence to a point in the middle of the
River Ashburton in line with the said boundary; thence
north-westerly along the middle of the said South Branch
and Taylor's Branch to a point in line with the middle of a
road passing through Rural Sections Nos. 34145, 34144,
32653, 30590, and 30589, and situated about 5 chains to the
north-west of a closed road; thence north-eastwards to and
along the middle of the said road to the starting-point.

The Mount Somers Road District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury
bounded towards the north by a right line due east from the
Southern Alps to the source of the River Rakaia, near Whit-
combe's Pass; thence by a line along the middle of the River
Rakaia to the Mount Hutt Road District; thence by that
road district to the North Branch of the River Ashburton;
thence towards the north-east by a line along the middle of
that branch to a point in line with the middle of a road
passing through Rural Sections Nos. 30589, 30590, 32653,
34144, and 34145, situated about 5 chains to the north-west
of a closed road; thence to and along the middle of the said
road to a point in line therewith in the middle of Taylor's
Branch of the River Ashburton; thence south-easterly along
the middle of the said branch to the northern boundary of the
Anama Road District; thence westwards and north-westwards
along the northern boundaries of the Anama and Rangitata
Road Districts; thence by the north-west boundary of the
Rangitata Road District to the middle of the River Rangi-
tata; thence again towards the south-west and south-east by
a line along the middle of the River Rangitata and Forest
Stream respectively to the source of the latter in Two-
Thumb Range; thence towards the west by the summit of
that range to the summit of the Southern Alps near Mount
Tyndall; thence towards the north-west by a line along the
summit of the Southern Alps to the starting-point.

the County of Ashburton, do hereby certify that the above
special order has been duly passed by the said Council.

County Councils of Clifton, Inangahua, and Lake,
and the Clerks to the Omaha, Wairau, and Heathcote Road
Boards, are published in accordance with section 2 of "The
Rating Acts Amendment Act, 1893."

CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

PROPOSED by Mr. Haworth, seconded by Mr. R. H. Pigott,
Chairman, "That this Council hereby determine that 'The
Rating Act, 1882,' shall be in force within the Clifton County,

and that all assessments of property within the said county
shall be made under the provisions of section 2 of 'The Rat-
ing Acts Amendment Act, 1893,' according to the rateable
value of such property as defined in section 2 of 'The Rating
Act, 1882.'"—Carried.

I hereby certify that notice of motion of the above resolu-
tion was given on 4th September, 1894, and confirmed at a
meeting of the Council held 2nd October, 1894.

INANGAHUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION passed by the Inangahua County Council at a
meeting held on the 27th September, 1894:—
"Resolved, That the Inangahua County Council hereby
determine that 'The Rating Act, 1882,' and the amend-
ments thereof, shall be in force within the County of Inanga-
hua, and that all future assessment of rateable property be
made annually."

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of the
resolution passed as aforesaid.

LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLVED, That the Council of the County of Lake hereby
determine that "The Rating Act, 1882," shall be in force
within the District of the County of Lake; also, that all
assessments of property within the said District of the
County of Lake shall be made under the provisions of sub-
section (6) of section 2 of "The Rating Acts Amendment Act,
1893," according to the rateable value of such property as
defined in section 2 of "The Rating Act, 1882."

I certify the following to be a true copy of resolution
passed at a meeting of the Council of the County of Lake,
held on the 19th September, 1894, and that the said resolu-
tion has been approved by a majority of the members of the
Council of the County of Lake.

Dated at Queenstown, this 2nd day of October, 1894.

OMAKA ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION: That, in accordance with subclause (6) of
clause 2 of "The Rating Act, 1893," "The Rating Act, 1882,"
shall be in force in the Omaka Road District, and that the
valuations shall be made triennially.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the reso-
lution passed unanimously at a meeting of the Omaka Road
Board held on the 11th September, 1894.

WAIRAU ROAD BOARD.

I HEREBY certify that the following is a true copy of a reso-
lution passed this day unanimously at a full meeting of
the Wairau Road Board:—
"That, in accordance with subsection (6) of clause 2 of 'The
Rating Acts Amendment Act, 1893,' 'The Rating Act, 1882,'
shall be in force in the Wairau Road District, and that the
valuation shall be made triennially."

RESOLVED, That, under authority conferred by subsection (6)

within the Heathcote Road District.

I hereby certify the above is a true extract from the
minutes of the Heathcote Road Board.
